It seems Director Kearney had to do a lot of ‘Sucking Up’ yesterday 🙂 But I will have to give him credit, he actually handled the situation the way a public official should;

Admitted they made a mistake.

Apologized for the mistake.

Taking corrective action.

Trust me, I still don’t trust Don farther then I can spill a glass of milk, but he did what I wish more public officials in Sioux Falls would do, admitting they made a mistake and correcting it.

  1. The mother appeared on KDLT news. A mother tending 5 children has no choice but to breast feed in public. I’m more disturbed by the lifeguards who reprimanded her. They should be shamed into resignation before they’re publicly fired.

  2. The lifeguard is most likely a high school kid. I don’t think we need to start shaming and publicly firing them. It seems a bit harsh and disproportional. Now the right thing to do would be to explain the policies in training better.

  3. the mother must have went on all the tv stations. in a state where the legislature spends the majority of time deciding what bathroom people can use, of course a high school kid is going to get freaked out by a bare boob.
