Since I have been accused of bitching about everything and anything, I’m protesting the name spellings of the mayoral candidates. If the media was smart, they would throw their support behind Jamison or Anderson, simply based on the fact that their names are easiest to spell. Heck, even the candidate with the shortest name is difficult to spell, Mike Gunn.
So let’s go through these (and please correct me if I am wrong on spelling or pronunciation)
Mike Gunn (Gun)
Greg Jamison (Jame-iz-son)
Kenny Anderson Jr. (And-ER-s0n)
Jolene Loetscher (Let-shur)
Paul TenHaken (Ten-Hay-Ken) Paul was so concerned about his name he eliminated the space.
Nick Weiland (Why-Land)
David Zokaites (Zoe-Kay-tis)
Jim Entenman (Ent-ta-man)
David and Jolene have been the most clever with their names in marketing materials with David ‘Z’ and ‘Let’s Go Jo’.
While this may seem petty to complain about, it really isn’t. Name recognition is very important in a crowded race like this, and having a clever motto is important.
