Mayor Mike has lunch with YPN

Bring a bag lunch and listen to Mayor Mike Huether talk about the things he has learned while he has been the leader of Sioux Falls. He will update us about what is happening in the city, his goals for his remaining time in office, and leave it open for some Q&A time so we can ask anything we want to know about the city’s latest developments!

Make sure to RSVP to save your spot at this great event!

I wonder if CityLink will be hauling their cameras to the event? Wonder what that will cost? Be curious to hear ‘What he learned’ It certainly hasn’t been open government.

I wonder how the SD GOP Leadership’s boots felt up Wollmann’s ass over the weekend?

My butt feels a lot better then it did on Saturday and Sunday. Man! Mark and Dennis wear some big shoes!

Make no mistake, Mr. Wollmann cut and run just as soon as he could pull the boots out of his ass;

In a statement released Monday House leaders say, “The South Dakota State legislature, like any other organization, is comprised of human beings.  Consequently, we will experience human failure and imperfection.  Every legislator has an obligation to refrain from behavior unbecoming to the Legislature and inconsistent with maintaining the public’s trust.”

House leaders also say they will be meeting over the coming weeks with legislators, current interns and legislative staff to discuss any improvements they can make in the legislator and employee training.

Nice (BS) statement. Try to quickly sweep this under the rug before people start asking real questions, like how this has been going on since the 1960’s, or why a governor’s cabinet member was let go? The SD GOP is quick to bury their own when they are trying to cover up there scandalous institution. Besides, how can you justify repealing an ethics law the voters passed when you are being unethical yourself? Watch a bunch of scum.

Was this car dealership a non-profit charity when we gave them a $1 million dollar street?

Remember this? The city employees and directors working hard to not only close a public residential street but also working OT to make sure a private business owner got the property (valued at close to $1 million) for FREE. The dealership offered to pay nothing for the street vacation. But hey, how many jobs were created? How many people stayed out of jail? How much did this save our justice system? Not sure, but they did get to build a gigantic parking lot. When the mayor’s administration wants to throw a hissy fit over giving away a rust bucket of a building, I only have to show them this fiasco, and then ask them to STFU.

Mike Rounds proves just how creepy he really is

Funny for a guy who weaseled his way out of the EB-5 scandals, he sure is paranoid of who is calling him. I even cracked a joke the other night, the reason I like being involved in local government is because I can call my local lawmakers (city and county) and they will talk to me about concerns, where if you have to get a hold of our DC delegation – good luck. Now it appears, Rounds is doing background checks on people who just want to ask him a question. Super creepy;

But Ellis smelled something else fishy about Senator Rounds’s response. It was addressed to Ellis by her full name, including her middle name, which she did not give over the phone. It was sent to her son’s e-mail address, which she did not provide to the Senator’s staff. Ellis’s son has never provided that e-mail address to Senator Rounds’s office; Ellis says her son has never contacted any elected official and has zero political involvement. (She’s working on changing that.)

Curious, Ellis called the office back. She asked about her son’s e-mail address; Rounds staff couldn’t explain how that address had gotten into their system. She asked about the use of her middle name; Rounds staff said something about how birth certificates are public record.

Umm… really? The South Dakota Department of Health says birth records are not open for public inspection. You can’t just go browsing birth certificates; you have to file an application and pay a fee.

This is the kind of crazy 1984 crap these people believe in. I warned people about how twisted Mr. Rounds was when he was running for senate, and it seems it continues.
