Theresa obviously knows the deadline is Friday, so she will need at least a couple of days to get signatures to turn in by Friday at 5 PM. So if she does decide to run, we will know by Wednesday for sure.

I know she has been mulling this over for a couple of months and we have had several ‘difficult’ discussions about the possibility.

She told me today, “I have had several citizens approach me asking me to run.”

Obviously if Stehly runs she is probably a shoe-in for the run-off. She would also probably be knocking out the chances of other candidates like Anderson and Loetscher.

I guess we will see what she decides.

What do you think? Can Stehly break the 50+1 threshold in a run-off?

  1. Nope. Jamison ran for mayor while sitting on the city council and after he lost he still finished out his council term.

  2. I’d rather see her wait for the next term. There’s going to be major Huether damage a stupid one term mayor like Entenman should get blamed for.

  3. I saw Entenman’s monster truck between Sioux City and Omaha on Sunday headed south. It’s such an obnoxious paint job that begs criminal damage. I would be embarrassed seen in it or even near it. One thing for sure, he should get an insurance break. Nobody’s going to steal it.

  4. If Theresa chose to run, you can certainly throw away any handicapping that exists now. The odds would change a lot for everyone.

  5. WP – The city council would have to appoint someone by a majority vote that would finish out her term. There wouldn’t be a special election.

  6. That’s how Karsky got on the council (than when he actually RAN for the first time his signs said RE-ELECT on them, which made us laugh, because he was appointed, not elected. I nicknamed him the ‘FAKE INCUMBENT’
