As mayor TenHaken has said in the past, he is continually reviewing his departments and department heads. He eliminated the Community Development Department and Central Services and re-organized them.
The rumor mill is telling me he is looking at another department to re-organize and they are under close review. Apparently under the past administration they took on some new processes directed by that mayor and they may NOT be working as planned. Unfortunately, with this re-organization more than a handful could be leaving.
We will have to wait and see.
Hopefully it will be a reorganization of the finance department and getting rid of some of the unneeded people.
Finance more than doubled in size after adding new software that was supposed to automate and streamline things.
Unfortunately, that is NOT the department I have been hearing about, but you never know what might happen once Paul finds a new finance director.
I did hear an interesting tidbit that we are wondering Paul picked up from his seminar in NY. I guess right before a city director gets fired the entire city of SF computer system get’s shut down so that person can’t take info or delete info before getting the pink slip.
now when the computer system is down, employees will all ask “who’s getting fired today?”
Probably too much to ask for that it will be the health director and we’re getting a public ambulance.
I’ve heard health as well.
