UPDATE: The Mayor’s office confirmed today that the director of Central Services was let go last week due to a reorganization of her department. I guess she sent out an email over the weekend to city councilors telling them she was confused as to why she was let go. I’ll give you one reason, Sue; Huether Appointment.

The story from city hall is that Paul ‘reorganized’ another department yesterday. In other words, he ‘organized’ a departure of another director, and I heard he has a replacement already.

I have a pretty good guess who it is and what department, but I’m sure there will be an announcement this week, so I won’t rain on Erica’s, uh, I mean, Paul’s parade.

Let’s just say if it is true, DaCola approves.

. . . And no, it wasn’t Kelby 🙂

  1. ***** NON-GERMANE WARNING ************

They say when a facade collapses that it exposes the truth. I wonder if the current problem on Phillips was helped by the neighborhood’s pounding from the Copper Lounge collapse? Just how much collateral damage will there be? A cow started the great Chicago fire of 1871 and perhaps a load bearing wall started all of this, but in slow motion? …..So they may have to come out with a new video game patterned after this called ‘Post-Sim City.’

  2. JKC,
Post Sim City – after the city fathers have built it, how can you dismantle it?
Or a game of Downtown Jenga.

  3. TGfG,

Jenga might be what we have. Post Sim City, however, is the rebuilding after Jenga; and keep in mind, that with this video game, older buildings are still falling while you try to rebuild.

  4. Reorganize the Parks Department. Even with 70 employees, they must contract landscape services at the golf courses and water plant. It’s time for a new director and job cuts. To many piglets and not enough teets.

  5. She was an incompetent do-nothing. Even if being a Huether appointee wasn’t enough to fire her, her own performance earned her the dismissal.

Most directors are given the chance to resign before being let go, so either PTH is doing that differently as well, or Sue didn’t take the hint.
