So at the non-televised joint city council and commission meeting today, the entities decided to split the cost of this study; Homeless-Study

While I think the study is needed, I’m wondering why Augustana (a private university) had to get reimbursed for a ‘research’ project? I guess Augie has trouble scrounging together $27K. Well that’s what you get when you have a Democrat running the joint, poor fundraising skills . . . ouch.

What is also ironic, the local government entity that serves the most homeless, poor and underpriviledged in our community didn’t contribute a penny to the study (SF School District). I guess they have already identified their homeless issues.

5 Thoughts on “City of Sioux Falls & Minnehaha County share the cost of Homeless study

  1. you have to wonder what the $27k actually went towards. you’d think that students did this as part of a class and didn’t get paid.

    In a slightly alternate reality….

So at the non-televised joint city council and SFSD School Board meeting today, the entities decided to split the cost of this study; Homeless-Study

While I think the study is needed, I’m wondering why Augustana (a private university) had to get reimbursed for a ‘research’ project? I guess Augie has trouble scrounging together $27K. Well that’s what you get when you have a Democrat running the joint, poor fundraising skills . . . ouch.

What is also upsetting is that the SFSD had to help pay for this study instead of putting their funds toward education.

(Or however you want to spin negativity toward the school district, your new en vogue target of vitriol). I am shocked that you haven’t said anything about the Huether name being put on the Yankton indoor pool. At least he was a deserving target.

  3. Never happen, the SFSD would have just have a private restaurant to throw a fundraiser.

I feel sorry for Yankton, because if the bond passes and they accept putting Huether’s name on the building, he will micromanage the project all the way. I would advise them to go with a concrete or plaster exterior.

Maybe he and Denny could fund their proposed casino too? They could offer roundtrip ferry rides to the Nebraska side of the Missouri River, where an establishment on a man made island could offer subprime and/or payday loans….

We should study wages and not homelessness, if we truly want to solve this problem.

Homelessness, absent the mental health component, is merely the by-product of the maldistribution of income in our society today.

You raise the wages and the rest will begin to solve itself.
