Next week is Pat’s last on KSOO AM 1000.

Before the speculation begins, Pat left on his own accord to start a new full-time job.

I’m saddened by this. While his first few weeks were a bit shaky, I really felt he grew into the new position. He was truly an independent voice in SF political radio. There was only one other local political show, and it, well, sucks. Same old RUSH talking points and the same half-dozen callers telling us how we need to be wing-nuts or we are going to Hell.

I hope KSOO replaces Pat with a similar independent moderate. And if they do, please change the time to 4-6 PM so we don’t have to wait for the Twins games to be over with.

  1. Of course we can never tire of the “moderate” (read liberal) talking points. It occurs to me that Lalley had a lot of regulars- a bicycle nut, anyone from the aclu or similar groups, and a self appointed expert sioux falls blogger

  2. Matt, while some of that is true (bicycle nut), I’m compelled to point out that I also had many, many conservatives and conservative groups on the show as well as a whole plethora of folks who had nothing to do with politics.

  3. LOl, Matt Johnson, Patrick Lalley had me on the show several times and I am about as conservative as one can get. Pro-life, pro-2nd ammendment, pay for your own health care, cut taxes NOW and then cut them again, etc, etc. Sad to see Patrick moving on but wish him good luck!

  4. MJ – BULLLLLLSHHHHH*TTTTTT!

I used to try to call into B-N-B and they pre-screen you and want to know what you are going to say in advance. If you lie to them, you MIGHT get thru. And if you disagree with Greg’s position, he berates you and calls you an angry liberal.

  5. Sorry to hear this, but wish Pat well.
Some of his weird friends were hilarious. He also had a variety of topics, political and non-political.
He also had many great guests from all over the spectrum. I also appreciated him showcasing local events and also having both of the major state bloggers on to get their viewpoints. His angle is unique and adds a diversity of thought to the airwaves that was good for all of us. We so often just listen to what and who we agree with to have our own opinions validated. We learn the most from those we don’t agree with or who bring us new ideas. Finally, he is and was professional and respectful to guests. It was civil but challenging debate. That I immensely appreciate. Good luck Pat!

  6. In spite of Patrick’s long history of notorious anti-snow gate comments both at the AL and KSOO……

I am disappointed he is leaving the airwaves.

  7. I agree with Councilor Nietzert. Pat understands the issues, invites both sides to participate and treats his guests with respect. We need more of this type of public forum in our growing community. Healthy debate for healthy democracy =Accountable government. God bless you Mr. Lalley.

  8. It’s sad when the only airwaves content is left to Greg Limbaugh. There must be a voice for ignorant bigots but there should also be content for practical intelligence.

  9. “…….pay for your own health care”

………Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha….. WOW! And let’s get rid of Medicare too, said the old man on Social Security and a meager pension….

  10. Matt S- I never said he did not have conservatives but Patrick has always had a lib bent- both at the paper and on air; Wis- I have never been “screened” on that other show- they ask for my name and if I am on topic; and far be it from you to call conservatives names(certainly no more than 100 times a day)

  11. KSOO, like kelo radio, has an unending lineup of far right wing bomb throwers and hate mongers. Patrick will be replaced, just a question of how far right they choose to go. SAD.

  12. Patrick was a breath of fresh air in an atmosphere of hate. I always figured Patrick to be about a 30 point underdog in this environment. How do you keep a crowd that has been spending all day to Laura Ingraham, glen beck, and brian kilmeade? You don’t. Those listeners simply switch frequencies and listen to the rants of sean hannity. SAD

  13. You know if he still wanted to do something like that show weekly or bi-weekly I know a guy with a studio and social media distribution network. Hint Hint 😉 Whatever Patrick goes on to do I wish him well!
