Why not make alcohol flavored cupcakes without alcohol?

All this hub-bub about fixing the laws so people can make cupcake frosting or other tasty desserts is worth the conversation. If for no other reason, for the fact that South Dakota’s laws on alcohol are way behind the times, including taxation. But the one thing I can’t figure out is why did this cupcake shop close?

Intoxibakes closed immediately, stopping online orders as they waited to work things out with city liquor licensors.

While I can understand the inconvenience of not being able to use alcohol temporarily, NOT sure why a cupcake business shut it’s doors until a fix is found. YOU MAKE CUPCAKES! CUPCAKES! Why not make regular non alcohol infused cupcakes until the law gets changed? Really!? There are several cupcake shops all over Sioux Falls that do it, and make it just fine.

I can understand though it would probably go against your business plan, but guess what, you can make all kinds of FAUX alcohol flavored baked goods using substitutes that have the same flavor qualities. There are substitutes for beer, champagne, brandy, Frangelico, coffee liqueur, etc, etc.

While I understand their frustration with Pierre, I think shutting down the business until it is fixed isn’t a real good business plan. Go make your cupcakes, and once our city officials and state legislators remove their heads from their butts, than you can go back to using the real deal.

Billy and Sally will never know the difference at their 6 year old birthday party.

GEEEZ!

You can have your opinions about Trump, but this was an amazing conversation, I learned a lot (not from him).

One of the comments that stood out was one of the victim’s brother said we need to have and open conversation and bring everything to the table and all ideas even the controversial ones, because that is how we will come up with solutions.

I would have to agree, our First Amendment may be the solution to fixing our Second Amendment to the Constitution.

Sioux Falls City Council Informational and Regular Meetings (2/20/2018)

During the informational councilor Rex Rolfing didn’t realize that the SFFD is not allowed to use ALS (Advanced Life Support) only BLS (Basic Life Support) on medical calls. It was part of the contract negotiation with Paramedics Plus. The sad part about this is that Rolfing was one of the councilors who approved the contract with PP. Obviously he didn’t read the contract before approving it.

During the council meeting, once again Rolfing couldn’t resist to tell us how little he knows, even after almost 8 years of doing his job. He didn’t want the council to get emails about potential lawsuits filed against the city. He said that certain councilors are ignoring the confidential disclaimer on emails and passing information along to the press and public. First off, these lawsuits are public record, and secondly, the public owns email transmissions between city employees and councilors. He wouldn’t know transparency if it hit him like a baseball bat.

I also reminded the council that Finance Director Tracy Turbak was full of it when he claimed the End of the Year finance reports come out the same time each year.
