I found it interesting as I saw the stream of cars and people at Falls Park today that the city is telling people to stay away from the park, yet they had NO barricades to the traffic entrances to the park.

We will have plenty of time next week to talk about how well the city planned for this mini-natural disaster.

  1. All that CAFO concentrated urine and feces flooding and getting everywhere downstream and in Sioux Falls. Oh fun!

  2. Oh, I agree, that is probably why they didn’t block it off. It certainly would have been weird. I do know when I was there at noon there was at least 30 cars in the lot and over 50 people walking around. But people were cautious and no one was getting close to the water.

  3. UAP – Forget about salt and sandbags, we are going to need a Hell of a lot of bleach.

  4. Between the anti-vaxxers and mutating bacteria from the toxic Big Sioux then add rats, one wonders if Sioux Falls could have a Middle Ages type epidemic.

  5. CBS News showed a picture of Yankton Trails and said: “Sioux Falls, South Dakota had a unwanted lake.”

What should we call this lake? Maybe Hobby Lobby could move there. Perhaps, Lake Yankton Trails would be nice.

No, I take that back, because in the tradition of Covell and Wall, it would be Yankton Trails Lake, would it not? But then again, what about “Lake” Lorraine? Shouldn’t it then be Lorraine Lake?….(Lorraine Lake?…. I think I went to high school with her…..(But “unwanted lake” sounds correct and mysterious, don’t you think?)). 😉

  6. OH, and I hope we never have a flood that causes the Sioux to rechannel itself down 41st Street….. Now, that would be a mess, don’t you think?
