Unlike the group of rat finks looking for competitors to Stehly in 2020, I will be honest with you; I am actively looking for challengers to NW District Councilor Neitzert and SW District Councilor Selberg and if Stehly decides NOT to seek a 2nd term, we will be looking for a candidate in that race also.
No worries, you have some time. The earliest you really need to announce is this Fall, even though there are some people already talking about running against Stehly.
I have spoken with several people interested in challenging the two. With the parking ramp debacle, the chatter has increased quite a bit, and with all the failures over the past three years due to their rubber stamp mentality, many citizens are ready to turn a majority of the council into a citizen advocacy body and a real challenge to city administrators and big bizzo in town.
As you know, Bruce and I have ran many successful local campaigns (ironically one of our best was Neitzert’s 🙁 and we have had a couple of failures, but I think the 2020 election cycle will be a big one for us. As you know, Bruce and I try to champion candidates that are for two things, ‘Good, Clean Government’. We also don’t care about your partisan stripes, we have helped indies, Republicans and Democrats.
We are willing to sit down with anyone interested to discuss a campaign. While the consultation will be totally free and confidential, I can not guarantee we would take you on, but we are willing to listen and advise.
Personally, I’m not inclined to run for a Council position. But, I would welcome the opportunity to be a campaign volunteer for the kind of candidates you have described.
I hear Matt Paulson, local entrepreneur (?!), is raising money to support more rubber stamp candidates for the City Council.
Specifically, candidates who are interested in running against Stehly, the people’s advocate.
“Christian” clowns like Matt Paulson need to get a REAL dose of conscience. Whether the entrepreneur/marketing mavens of his ilk want to admit it or not, their underlying mantra is “In order for me to profit and win, someone will lose – and I’m OK with that.” That’s the foundation of the God-wants-me-to-be-profitable-eternal-optimist-all-development-is-inherently-good-greed-is-good-where-never-is-heard-a-discouraging-word Pollyanna village vanguards.
Well said Blasphemo…well said.
If Teresa runs she will win and she has wide support. Very few have challenged the status quo as she has. All the money can be poured in but, I suspect this last fiasco with the parking ramp and her being on record from the get go will get her reelected. The public is behind her and folks like her, too much money is being wasted on things we don’t need. Sometimes communities things to go bad for everyone to wake up, take a step back, and ask the question, what the heck is going on in this city.
I am with you Blasphemo, I am ready at a “minimum” to pitch in to elect the right people. Heck maybe I throw my name in ring! 🙂
I really do hope Theresa Stehly re-runs for her position and if not, I hope she would consider a run for mayor in 2022. PTH has got to go and need someone in who fights for transparency and FOR the citizens best interests rather than against them.
Theresa is the GOAT when it come to city council.
PTH has somehow gone from being a Thune to a Rounds….#Beatable
With every appointment we are getting more members of PTH’s dutch mafia he proudly proclaimed his allegiance to during the 2018 election. Last night’s PTH appointments were no big surprises. It appears if you are part of the prosperity gospel of Northwest Iowa you are on the 1st qualified appointment list to any job you want in city government.
