  1. Forced to work, good point.

How many times have “forced to work” people had to feed you over the last month Mr. Hypocrite? Are you able to get electricity, water and internet via by your own actions?

If you stop eating, drinking and surfing the internet no one will be forced to work.

Scott, Your an emotion based “thinker” who doesn’t see how you yourself are part of the problem. Most of the shitty so called “news” is made to keep you this way.

Whole lotta hypocrites asking to be boarded up in their homes.

We need to stop the $600 a week extra unemployment to end the “safe at home” crying. You yourself Scott will make more on Covid unemployment than working and that is YOUR reasoning.

  2. They have no choice because the wages in this town force them to live paycheck to paycheck.

  3. The repeated comment of wages in this town suck may be true but it’s no conspiracy. They are just as bad all over the country. Why pick on Sioux Falls as the evil one.

  4. I bet Unstable Genius, or Chase, or Very stable but not funny genius, or “Name in quotes for no reason,” all the same person by the way, has a 24 x 36 inch poster of the Laffer curve hanging in their living room and right next to a portrait of General MacArthur.

( and Woodstock adds: “Boy VSG, you must really be getting to them”…. “It’s quite obvious, and I think there might be more than one behind the scenes”…. “Say, whatever happen to Matt P.?”….)

  5. “All the same person.” Wrong again genius. I don’t know who those other posters are but I do know I like a good Taupe!!!

(and Woodstock adds: “Sorry VSG, I secretly like a nice soothing Taupe.”

    #Taupeisoutofmyreach

  6. With respect to those dedicated heroic workers keeping our power, water, sewer and internet going – we are probably going to experience an unprecedented period of reliability without them coming to work. With most well designed systems it is changes to add new services which causes the majority of outages. There are outages caused by random events like weather but absent those outages utility workers should be sleeping on the switch and we will all be better off for it. This is not the aftermath of a winter ice storm or an earthquake. The theme should be maintain the status quo and don’t break anything you don’t already have the parts to fix.

  7. Chase,

I knew you were fond of “Woodstock”. Woodstock’s nest is taupe, like most, so he has no choice but to live with it like most people, who choose to live south of 57th.

  8. Whoever the fuck you are, you have no idea what it takes to keep these “unprecedented reliability’ systems running. Power, water and internet guys don’t just sit on there ass waiting for mother nature to put them to work

You really should find something your good at and do that more.

    You incredulous sufferable boob.

  9. LJL, I like you more every time you post. I happen to have first hand knowledge of the topic you’re talking about. I think you’re being charitable calling “Times” a boob.

  10. LJL and NIQFNR – I too am loving your posts as some of these posts using Woodstock or different voices/names is just dumb. I must not be old enough to get all the “woodstock” quotes. I barely remember Peanuts cartoons and never watched them so it just goes past me. Sounds dumb but, whatever

  11. Conservative, I’ve only posted here under 2 names, this one and “Unstable Genius”. I stopped using that one when he claimed I had stolen his very unoriginal name. I have at least 7 names he uses that I don’t read, when he adds a new one, it’s easy to tell. Same phrasing and unfunny attempt at humor. Likes to emphasize Alex! too, and continues to accuse me of being an Alex shill even though I’ve said many times I don’t live in SF. Anyway, ignoring all his posts is the best way to browse this blog. I actually enjoy it other than him.

  12. When you have critics, that’s a good sign. I and others speak truth to power on this site and some of you are just bothered by that, or owned by others who are.

I also find it fascinating that commentators, who claim to ignore my writings, seem also to keep up on them and have a great inventory of knowledge about them.

We all know that with this current assault, especially by the one who hates quotation marks, that their comments are nothing but an attempt to silence this overall blog, because unlike most towns of our size, we at least have a blog that speaks truth to power.

These critics are also attempting a divide and conquer strategy within this blog, too. And I think we know who is behind this, too.

In fact, one of these critics uses a tactic similar to a recent commentator, who used to use their name and was connected with city political leaders. It’s a strategy of criticism and then an attempt to butt kiss the blog writer. It’s an classic attempt at co-opting a message or messenger, but it won’t work, because the author of this blog is very bright and knows better.

In final analysis, you can always tell when you are winning the message game, because then, your critics try to attack the messenger and not the facts.

( and Woodstock adds: “Yah, if they love doxing, then they’ll do anything”…. “Seriously, they will”…. #DonaldSegrettiPolitics )

  13. I’m a snowbird and like the option of keeping up on Sioux Falls news via this blog. Thank you Scott. I have no secret agenda or affiliations. I simply find VSG humor to be very repetitive and not funny. That’s really all there is to it.

  14. “Say Snowbird, is Arizona going to go blue this time or stay red thanks to voters like you?”… “And if you don’t like someone’s humor, then why do you keep reading it?”… “I know of comedians I don’t like and I also don’t buy tickets to their shows, or watch them on cable”….

  15. I second the thoughts of Snowbird. I have no agenda and am a very infrequent poster. I’ve been more of a lurker here for about 3 years now as I love the thoughts on local issues from ALL sides.

This “woodstock” stuff after nearly every comment is getting old though. Wish the site owner could have VSG tone this down a bit. Thanks.

  16. Historically, Snowbird and Jon’s comments tend to be conservative in nature.

( and Woodstock adds: “I wish ‘lurkers’ had the balls to comment”…. )

  17. I might also add, that very recently, there has been an obviously orchestrated attack against this blog site. Attacks not only against me and “Woodstock,” but also against this blog in general and its owner. You cannot tell me this is by chance, either. We know who’s doing it, and why, but then again, why should we be surprised their doing this, especially if the attackers come from a culture of doxing, or have to somehow defend a Lysol president, or a mayor who holds parade for himself, then vacillates the next day on a stay-at-home order, or a city council candidate’s candidacy that has been lost in the sea of this current virus.

  18. Oh, these lurkers have been around since I started this blog, I don’t sweat it to much. My tool bag and doxxing skills are well honed.

  19. “Good!”…. “I’ll sleep better tonight now that I know the good guys have tool bags, too”… “And even better ones”…. 😉

  20. There are no orchestrated attacks on this blog, come on. This blog is 80% or more Left leaner’s and the few of us on the other side that show up are here for the news mostly. Problem is, VSG your dumb Woodstock comments and comments on top of comments are overboard. No one is running away from debating you, many are tired of your horrible attempt at humor, it’s just not funny and I love a good joke. I mean this sincerely I have no clue about this Woodstock shit, I completely miss it as I have Zero context. When the bars open back up I would enjoy a beer with some of you. I bet the conversations would be totally different.

I hope your retort is not the same tired old “It’s good to have critics…”. News flash everyone in life has critics, so it’s not anything to tout.

  21. CH,

A course you don’t like my humor, because I make fun of folks like you, or at least people who think like you, and your Lysol president.

And if you have no “clue,” then that’s probably why you don’t get it.

Oh, and it is good to have critics. Trust me. But most don’t have public ones, however. Plus, your critic logic means that your criticism is irrelevant. Do you really want to say that?

As far as the 80%, so what, the other 20% have been rather heavy lately, but unlike the War Campus website, at least here, Scott lets everyone comment.

  22. VSG – I love humor, even if your poking fun at me but , your not funny. Since I am sick a simpleton and not as smart as you, maybe this will get through…

You have taken simple debate and turned it personal all the time. Plain and simple, your a repeatative rude asshole, who wouldn’t say 90% of what your saying to anyone’s face. In any real world scenario you would probably not be this big of a dick to everyone who disagrees with you because at some point someone would have kicked your ass. I have, as many others have, tried to respectfully engage you but you always turn on them and make it personal. For the record I am not a huge fan of Pat Powers page so not sure how that made it into the post about YOU and you being an asshole. While I am sure you will have some word salad super intelligent retort, some times it’s simple. You’re a real fucking dick and you actually sound and act just like Trump ironically. Enjoy your weekend good sir!

  23. Wow! Thank you! CH, you finally get it. That’s why I use the quotation marks. I am obviously not the real VSG, but I like to serve to you enabling conservatives what your Lysol president serves to the American people everyday. Now, can you explain this to the Unstable Genius, or “NIQFNR,” too? Thanks.

As far as your name calling, I never use those words in my comments, but you have to, because you can’t deal in facts, or at least not in facts that hold up. But at the same time, I tell people in person what I think, trust me on that one. Leadership at times is a lonely game, especially if
you are easily sicken by others’ complacency and butt-kissing.

I do get a kick out of your logic, too. You claim, I wouldn’t say most of this without an alias, yet, you use an alias, and then claim you are more civil with your comments (Well, until this one.) then me, but if you are more civil, then why a need for an alias?

I also like your logic from an earlier comment, too, when you offer criticism of me, but then claim everyone has critics and that it is no big deal. If it’s no big deal, then why should I heed your criticisms?

( and Woodstock adds: “It’s hard being a conservative now days, when you have to defend a Lysol president…”)
