Many people have asked me why the daily pressers are only live streamed online thru various news sites and Facebook but not on CityLink. They are played later, but it seems they are not covered live. You would think a city our size who has it’s own public TV station would live stream these important press conferences. Paul’s appearances on national news and a FB only prove there is a certain sector he is reaching out to, and as he has admitted before, he is in constant campaign mode. The people he should be reaching at 10:30 AM on CityLink, the elderly, who are most vulnerable, are missing these important pressers in real time because they may not have the internet or a FB page. Sorry, but using tornados and pandemics to prop you up for a re-election 2 years from now looks worse than a homemade face mask.

  1. you are assuming the elderly have cable tv. also, the pressers are during the price is right, so there’s that to compete against.

  2. He says, he’s a “Red Mayor,” which I thought was interesting. When he ran for mayor two years ago, he was quoted saying that he had thought of running for the state legislature two or four years prior, but didn’t want to be tagged just as a Republican candidate. How times change, huh?

    ( and Woodstock adds: “A ‘Red Mayor?'”….. “Even Bernie doesn’t go that far”…. )

  3. The AirPods are an attempt to look hip and trendy to a national audience. Or, are those ear rings and he is beginning his transfer? #Red5GMayor

  4. “I have the ability to do that!”
Is this the same guy who has been whining for three weeks about the limitations placed upon his action by the state constitution, the city charter and the city attorney?

  5. A “Red Mayor”?!?!
PTH is just another Sioux Falls tax and spend chameleon who treats membership to a political party much the same as membership to a social club.
He would be a “Blue Mayor” in California or Massachusetts … because it would be most politically expediant for him to do so.

  6. @Blue Commentator – Come on, let’s not bring the Trans community into this. The Trans community has worked very hard at not being the punch line to jokes or “joking around.” It’s hurtful that you would equate the mayor wearing iPods to him “beginning his transfer.” Don’t be that person.

  7. I don’t hate anyone, I’m just frustrated that instead of leading he is campaigning.

  8. Red Mayor = you don’t want to have it on your political record that you ordered businesses to close for any reason, ever

  9. TGFG,

I think in some ways you are right about the “Red Mayor” thing, but his conservative religious beliefs suggest to me that in Cali or Mass he would just be one of the many techies.

    ( and Woodstock adds: “What, he’s a Trekkie?”…)

  10. No one on this blog hates the mayor. We are just trying to figure out if he is pro or anti tie.

This AirPods thing, however, must be confusing the hell out of the elderly once Kermit voters, who are now definitely homebound, while their mayor is on national TV channel looking like he has some tissue coming out of his ears. They probably thing he is wasting valuable toilet paper.

( Note to self – Make sure to wear AirPods whenever interviewed by a national TV reporter. #TechSavvy )

  11. Bluelight Special,

I am not that person, but I am also not a person who will be dictated by political correctness either.

I make fun of myself all of the time, but I still like himself, respect myself, and am proud of myself.

I agree with Bill Maher that the left has gotten way too political correct in their attitudes and actions, and I consider myself to be very liberal on almost all of the issues (except marijuana) including sexual orientation.

Let me guess, you probably don’t watch ‘All In The Family’ or read ‘Tom Sawyer’ either, do you, because it offends you? #LiberalsWillNotRuleUntilLiberalsKnowHowTo

  12. What self-respecting “Red Mayor” would acquiesce to an interview with CNN?!?!
    C’mon man!

  13. You’re assuming people actually watch city link. he’s reach is wider when streaming on news sites and facebook live.

  14. TGFG,

I have to admit, that thought crossed my mind, but he’s on CNN like Bill Clinton being on FOX, which Clinton has done.

  15. @Blue Commentator. Too late, you are not woke enough and have now been “outed” as a “transophobe”. Your public shaming is just the start. Once the liberal mob finds out who you are your career is in jeopardy. Just because you make fun or yourself and respect yourself doesn’t give you license to find humor in anyone else or anything else like the environment or alternative energy. And you thought you were woke! Oh boy are you gonna learn because you are that guy.

  16. I think some of you confuse sarcasm with reality. They are polar opposites, yet they present themselves on the same platform. Is our mayor gay? Absolutely not, and to pull a sarcastic statement into this gutter is deplorable. My issues with Paul’s leadership style have nothing to do with his teenage skater apparel or his desire to love looking in a mirror. Sometimes a joke is simply a joke, and if there is one thing that bothers me the most about the LGBTQ community is that they constantly think they are a target. You cannot be a target unless you paint that target on yourself. Stop painting the target! I think most Americans don’t care about sexual preference, because guess what, it is none of your business who I decide to get jiggy with. Stop making your sexuality my business, and you just might figure out piece and peace of mind.

  17. Political correctiveness unknowningly helped elect Trump.

How can one be free, if they need a lawyer to talk or write?

Liberals spend too much time killing each other with intentional friendly fire. Political correctiveness has been weaponized to a degree, where it creates a bunker mentality within the liberal community, thus questioning what is really trying to be saved or established.

Political correctiveness came into its own being as a way to educate others, but it is know used as a way to eliminate others.

The liberal agenda will not prevail until liberals wake up to the enemy within, which is the self-righteousness of single issue crusaders, who do not accept a greater responsibility to the totality of all of the issues and not just to one for their liking.

  18. Blue Commentator and Scott – As a Conservative I have to agree with many of your points. 30 Years ago Liberals and Conservatives could have conversations, debates, heck even hang out and drink a beer. Today its very hard to do anymore and I for one enjoy a good debate as long as when we are done we can have a beer and still co-exist. Political Correctness is why the Left is eating each other in droves. I loathe Bill Maher and can barely stomach watching him because even he has succumbed to the Liberal Mob. He used to say “Fuck You” I will say what I want but, even he has been chewed up and spit out. The “wokeness” is backfiring so bad on the Left, its gaffe after gaffe. The sad thing is some issues the Left has carried over the years are GOOD, yes I said it GOOD. I will take the environment as an example. Should we make sure we are not unnecessarily polluting our air, land, and water, YES WE SHOULD. Should we wreck our economy by trying to go Green everything in 5 minutes, NO we should not. Since we are letting 16 year old WOKE folks run us it’s hard to take you serious. The Left these days is trying to out-woke and out-Left the other and your killing each other. Political correctness is so far out of control terms like Racist, Bigot, Homophobe, Islamophobe, or any other ist, or phobe hold ZERO water anymore. Most just look the other way when these terms are flung around because they really have lost all meaning. The reason this is sad is when you paint anyone who disagrees with you as some evil person, you’re cheaping the real folks who deserve the Label.

As a Conservative I am somewhat happy some of this is happening on the Left because it’s so out of control, it needs to be wrecked and rebuilt.
