As you can see below, the games will begin next Wednesday and it will take three days to comb it over. Not sure, but if the recount needs to be extended past that time, a court may get involved. I am not going to hold my breath and say this will be over next Friday.

7 Thoughts on “Sioux Falls City Council Election Recount could be over by next Friday (6/26)

This Recount Board consists of a major league anti-choice politician, a former federal prosecutor who found no indictments after investigating EB5, and a former judge who gave Janklow three months, when most defendants with such a rap sheet would have got six to eighteen months. But other than that, everything looks fine.

( and Woodstock adds: “It sounds to me like it will be over quickly, little will be found, and we will be left with no choice, but to accept it”…. )

Maybe because that ethics complaint was filed right before an election as part of an effort to discredit you. Why would you let a complaint see the light of day that is trying to make you look bad over nothing?

Don’t tell me for a second that this is a genuine complaint about an actual ethical lapse, because if that were true, the person filing the complaint should file the same complaint against the mayor who went on the same trip. Maybe the mayor escaped being targeted because he’s not up for re-election?

Well, the ethics rules are clear and they are both guilty IMO, election or not. The 1st complaint was actually filed months ago but the ethics board kept dragging their feet.

the real complaints should be lodged against greco and litz. those two boobs are the ones who failed here. perhaps they need to be asked “why?”
it’s kind of interesting how erickson continues to take every opportunity she can to prop up greco. something seems amiss here. but if the recount holds up, so be it.

Agree with messy on Greco and Litz. I understand about Greco getting his military retirement but he has to be out of here so he doesn’t qualify for another pension. I surely hope he wasn’t as incompetent in the military as he is here in the city or he had a lot of people fooled!

The Puppetmaster Ventriloquist seems to have mis-placed a comment about the proceedings of the Ethics Board to this post.

You can’t shovel that “poor me” bovine excrement with me.

The facts are that the original proceeding was scheduled for April 30, only days prior to the final day of the Board’s legal obligation to do so and more than 2 weeks beyond the originally scheduled election Day (April 14). Public notice of this proceeding (was there any?) would not have been available on the originally scheduled Election Day.

The Ethics Board proceeded to discharge the original complaint well in advance of the rescheduled June Election Day. In the mind of any voter who may have been paying attention (all 10 of 15 of them), this was to grant the appearance of exoneration.

I assume the complaint was quickly re-filed citing the correct Chapter of the law.

Rather than more immediately hear a refiled case, the Board deferred further action to a date 2+ weeks following a rescheduled June 2 Election Day. Certainly wouldn’t want details like proper public notice to be necessary during the lead-up to the election, would we?

    All very convenient, wazzinit?

And, part of an effort to discredit him? Puleeze.

There is no effort required by others to discredit him. He is perfectly functional to do so himself.

As the winner of the City Council’s much-coveted John Kerry “I Was For It Before I Was Against It” Flip Flop Award – he discredits himself.

As the champion for and advocate of an internal audit manager candidate with a clear conflict of interest, hiring of which he streamlined/fastracked – he discredits himself.

And the permanent monument to his service on City Council, the Bunker Ramp! Didn’t he have more than one chance to get this one correct? Yet, with each vote to approve this financial fiasco – he discredits himself.
No effort required. By anyone else.

TIL – the presumptively-elected Manchurian City Councilor has an official spokesperson for the recount effort.

Imagine that! The Puppetmaster Ventriloquist with two dummies on his lap.

Ever ambidextrous, the Puppetmaster Ventriloquist with an arm up both the backside of the presumptively-elected City Councilor and the backside of spokesperson for the candidate (and for the team of lawyers engaged to his effort to retain the seat).

One Puppetmaster Ventriolquist (who in the spririt of vicarious political experience is often heard to apply the pronoun ‘we’).

    Two Puppets.

Will there be a single message? Does one of the puppets even talk?

I hope the spokesperson doesn’t start spewing stuff about jerking and voting.

Or, why vote and die on Mars (with risk that your absentee ballot is delivered at 7:01 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2 to Worthless As Boar Tits ___ ____ [fill in the elected Minnehaha County official name of which may, or may not fit in rhyming fashion with the phrase]). You could live in South Dakota instead!

Yes. A spokesperson and a team of lawyers!

While they lampoon and ridicule ‘Ms. Stehly’ for her humble efforts toward fair recount and accurate tally of the vote, the political establishment in the state have marshalled to the recount effort a team of lawyers and a spokesperson from the RINO Workshop of the Chamber of Commercial Cronyists.

    That. Is. Rich.
