For full disclosure, I don’t live in Healy’s District, but do live right next to it in D13. I haven’t always agreed with some of the things she has done in the legislature either, but the RADICAL RIGHT has been destroying our state for decades and they won’t be happy until they turn the working class in this state into poverty stricken SLAVES with the only ones surviving are the rich and elite with their corporate welfare handouts.
That’s what is so ironic about this postcard and what Healy said ‘owners of slaves’. I guess I would take it as the radical right in South Dakota wants to praise slave ownership by putting them on the capital building. I mean really that is essentially what Noem is saying, ‘Praise the slave owners.’
I also think Erin’s comment was also really about the push to put more statues of dead slave owners on display in South Dakota. Really?! During the middle of a pandemic and an agricultural and economic crisis the governor of our state is worried about more statues?
Do I think Jefferson and Washington were great leaders? Sure, but as Healy said, they were not perfect. While I think tearing down monuments of them or defacing them is wrong, and I am sure Healy would agree, I don’t think we need to put up more. I think we need to learn from the mistakes of the past so we don’t continue to repeat them. I hope we learn hard lessons from the past 4 years.
As I said at a council meeting a few months ago, Sioux Falls and cities across the country should be building parks dedicated to peace and memorials about those who promote peace, instead of war.
Of course, I expected this kind of garbage from the Rushmore PAC. They have a track record of spewing hate and division across the state, and it’s NO mystery that the SD GOP Chair is behind the PAC since it’s official address is his home address in Dakota Dunes. Why didn’t the SD GOP just pay for the postcard? Because the radical right has to hide behind PACs so the public doesn’t know where the money is coming from. Make NO mistake folks, THE RADICAL RIGHT in South Dakota only wants to divide and conquer and they won’t be happy until 90% of us become their low wage slaves. No wonder they want to build more monuments to slave owners, they aspire to this greatness themselves.

The real “Cancel Culture” in this country is the party that wants to CANCEL Social Security, CANCEL Medicaid, CANCEL Medicaid, CANCEL SNAP, CANCEL taxes on corporations, CANCEL the ACA, CANCEL unemployment benefits, CANCEL AFDC, CANCEL Housing vouchers, CANCEL immigration, CANCEL Labor Unions, CANCEL the Voting Rights Act………. The list goes on and on.
Worst case scenario? Outside of District 15, Healy will be the only Democrat to win in Minnehaha County. Tom Holmes cannot beat Erin.
Historically, District 14 has always been good to a female Democratic candidate like Erin. She’s a winner.
Oh, and if we really have money for some more statutes, then why don’t we have more money for our teachers?
Know the people who vote for you and you might not say things that are this stupid outloud.
I would really like to vote for a South Dakota democrat but the state party has been pulled so far from our rural values their hopeless. Until the state dems figure it out, we’re going to have a shallow state government.

Yes, it never ceases to amuse how Republicans paint Democrats as the party of slavery then praise the slaveowners who penned not just the Bill of Rights but the Declaration of Independence, too.
Sleaze and crime built Dan Lederman’s business. He spent $50,000 to buy a seat in South Dakota’s corrupt legislature flaunting the same class by throwing it away resigning after the 2015 session then forcing his way into the chair of South Dakota’s earth hater party. That he would steer criminals like Mohammed bin Salman into South Dakota is completely within his crooked wheelhouse.
Republican South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s anti-civil rights actions are no accident. She’s is a graduate of the Koch Brothers’ American Legislative Exchange Council or ALEC, an anti-think tank think tank that teaches how wedge issues raise campaign dollars for the extreme white wing of the Republican Party. South Dakota’s GOP legislators and candidates enjoy millions in lobbyist benefits from ALEC.
You can always tell who the good Democratic legislators are by how nasty the opposition post cards are. So sorry, Erin.
The PAC directed by the lady in Hartford also put out an attack mailer in District 9.
I consider neither Dan Lederman nor Deb Peters as “RADICAL RIGHT”.
More so, solidly placed in the middle as mushy moderates.
Registered as Republicans for the utility of getting elected in South Dakota.
Lederman may have still been registered as a Democrat in Iowa, even as he hoodwinked the political estsblishment in this state of his Republican bona fides for elected office and party leadership. Pretty much congruent with the amount of work which I think he has done on my behalf over the most recent term in office.

I especially like his old vintage Ford pick-up, that he uses to display two of his big signs. I saw that pick-up at a car show this past summer, too. And like a car show, his campaign and cause for running is something from the past. You might admired it, but is it a good daily driver, or merely a trailer queen of little use?
