Caught Again!

It seems Cory and I were thinking the same thing when the news hit today;

Maybe the Legislature will make its impeachment Special Session a two-fer….

We will get to that in a moment.

From the AP Story (yes, folks, NO ONE in our state or local media uncovered this, it was the AP that had to break the story, so sad) there was one quote that stood out;

While Peters was applying for the certification, Noem should have recused herself from discussions on the agency, especially any that would apply to her daughter’s application, said Richard Painter, a professor at the University of Minnesota Law School who was the chief ethics lawyer for former President George W. Bush.

“It’s clearly a conflict of interest and an abuse of power for the benefit of a family member,” he said.

For a moment though, let’s move past the abuse of power, the nepotism, the corruption and the conflicts. That’s everyday business for the SD GOP, let’s focus on the possible impeachable offenses;

Bren filed her age discrimination complaint at the end of December and, three months later, received the $200,000 settlement agreement to withdraw the complaint and leave her job. When asked about Bren, Hultman declined to discuss “the specifics of personnel decisions.”

It’s the use of tax payer resources to silence a whistle-blower that makes this egregious. Forget about the spoiled brats Noem raised and the hillbilly authoritarianism that comes when dumb hicks attain power, that crap has been going on for 50 years in Pierre.

But the spending of our money to cover her tracks is faintly hypocritical considering she beat Jackboots in the primary by exposing his own cover-up and the settlement paid out to a DCI agent he tried to silence.

Yeah, we are starting to see a pattern here.

We all know Noem will walk away from this unscathed and nothing will happen and probably the reason our local media just lets out a big yawn anymore when it comes to government corruption in our state.

  1. If you promote it as a “two-fer” involving a local brewery, then maybe the local press will cover this.

    This is also like when Ivanka finally got her Chinese trademarks after her Dad became president.

    AND, isn’t this the same Governor’s daughter who used Custer State Park and its government employees to facilitate her wedding?

    (“….AND Now, after a Sanford commercial break, we will be right back with breaking news about the Burger Battle, and then the weather with our ACTION7 Weather Team…. Stay tuned…”)

  2. I was pro Noem for most of Covid and the way she kept SD open for business – but the way she trounced on SD voters with the Rec Marijuana made me realize she was ignoring the will of the voters! 54% of the voters approved rec MJ. She responded by forcing her appointed officials to seek court action (via one of her appointees) to ignore the will of the people getting a favorable ruling. Our Supreme Court has spent several months reviewing the obvious but i have little faith in their wisdom (IE the AG review) and feel they will rule in her favor dragging this out for years…. Which is her goal because an edible gummy is apparently the gateway to Heroin addiction!

    Furthermore, the way medical marijuana has been handled is deplorable. I can go to my local pharmacy for Oxy or Hydro but i must go into shady alleyways under cover of night to get my prescription marijuana at one of 4 or 5 locations far away from children or business because its so sinister! Unlike the aforementioned, have you ever heard of an overdose on MJ?

  3. At this point it’s important to get Kristi NoMJ out of government. There’s to much irresponsible irregularity. Using her office for economic gain is not unusual for Republicans in this state. Using it personally is unacceptable and Trumpian.

  4. There was an article in the Chicago Tribune. NoMJ’s daughter is 26 and hardly qualified for becoming a real estate appraiser. Otherwise, this position is controlled by an inner faction. Qualifications are school and experience not offered. NoMJ tried to circumvent with an abuse of power that gave her daughter preferential licensing treatment.

  5. I also see today Bren sent the test out of state to be graded to avoid a conflict. I guess there used to be people in Pierre with integrity.

  6. I have been watching Noem live on Newsmax. I find it ironic that Noem has chosen to fly to California to do a town hall yet I can’t recall the last time she has done a live broadcast town hall in South Dakota. In the 1st 20 minutes she has lied about Reagan, she lied about her death taxes, she lied about Covid mandates then goes straight after the radical left. Man, she is batty.

  7. “Is it legal for me to do an appraisal of Noem’s leadership? Because I’ll do it, if you want me to”….

  8. Watching Newsmax is batty behavior.

    She thinks she’s untouchable because the Trump turds can’t get enough of her.

  9. And now Jason is investigation Noem. Boy, this is going to be some good stuff. I actually think I might just be on Jason’s team now.

    Is it time to bring the boys from North Dakota down her again? Can Jason release the interrogative tapes? Does Noem like a baked potato and a steak? What about a Coke? Does she rent cars or borrow private vehicles from county deputies? Would a flashlight help? There’s a lot to be reviewed here, or is that appraised?

  10. Okay, so the local media has reported the beginnings of this story, but will they stay on it? Remember, even the New York Times dropped Watergate, but Woodward and Bernstein didn’t.

    ( and Woodstock adds: “Are you sure it’s not Woodstein and Bernwood?”… “Because I think that’s what they were called at Augie a few years ago”…. “Just saying”… )

  11. So, instead of responding to the appraiser/daughter controversy, she tries to turn the tide by responding to rumors about her and Lewandowski? Is that right? Where did she get that playbook idea? AND so then, was Trump all along behind the Avenatti/Stormy trail in an attempt to get us to stop talking about “Russia, Russia, Russia” as well? #FromRussiaWithLove

  12. I think Kristi is doing a great job, but, if she’s done something against the law, she should be investigated and charged, just like everyone else.

    I would also hope President Xiden and Hunter’s activities gets the same level of investigation? I see NPR has an article about Noem, but nothing about Xiden/Hunter/Big Guy?

  13. Say ‘Hunter, too?’

    What did Hunter do, to deserve a story? I thought Giuliani went there and found nothing but his own hand in his pants.
