Imagine my surprise tonight while out for a bike ride. The city took my advice and put up sign(s) about proper decorum on the bike trail, even though I’m not sure what a ‘courteous speed’ is. There was another sign further down the trail that said ‘DON’T FEED THE GEESE. GIVE TO CHARITY’ 🙂

  1. The final bastion of freedom has been lost. The bike trail has been regulated. We could blame Biden, but Taupeville is in charge and “Freedom Girl” is in Pierre. What’s next? AND, how do you “Stay To The Right” if you must warn others that you are on their left? The political art of the collectivist is to hide their politics as the others. This is a political ploy to induce conformity and accept the speed of your slower neighbor. “Courteous Speeds” are what Lenin called collectivization speeds, where transition, though brutal, was sold as an advancement for the masses. This is socialism. This is communism. I never thought I would see this in America. If they can control my bike trail, then what is next? My gun or my chicken sandwich? (My car wash place?)

  2. Boy I don’t know. This seems a little “foreign” to me. It’s – it’s, got a downright Canadian feel to it.

  3. rufusx,

I agree. It’s the blue signage. American parks are often signed in green or brown. In frozen times, Canada and Russia are one. AND, the blue speaks of the coldness of the signs’ author(s), which drips like the perspiration of a tireless proletarian.

    TGfG,

You are right, too. Very Nixonian. Nixon was gave us the EPA and wanted national health insurance. Tricky Dick tried to regulate the press as well….. Don’t forget, Nixon once broke bread with Mao and gave Brezhnev a new “Black” Lincoln.

  4. …. “‘… a new “Black” Lincoln’?”… “Did they have car wash places in Moscow back then?”…. “(“If so, they were probably called ‘Goldstar’…” … (“I know they had Pepsi kiosks back then”… “That’s why I drink Coke”…. )) …..
