Maybe if the zoo mounts were part of a food truck they would continue to cover it?
After this last week’s presser on the zoo mounts in which Paul chided the media about all the coverage, the media has been strangely quiet since.
I know, I know, there wasn’t a donation from Sanford or rejected mural designs this week, so it has been slow, but why not some followup stories;
• Speak with National and International Natural History Experts
• Talk with legislators about changing state law
• Interview ALL city councilors about their feelings on it
• When is it appropriate to have Executive Sessions? And what can be discussed?
• Elected leaders control of the media (this would be the best story).
• If not being disposed of in the landfill, where? (I think they will be cremated, which is really no different then throwing them in the dump).
It amazes me, that ONE elected official (out of 9) can just smack the media around for a couple of seconds at a press conference and the story runs cold. You could do HUNDREDS of stories about taxidermy, natural history, city history, open government, and the list goes on.
CITY OF SIOUX FALLS & DOWNTOWN SIOUX FALLS MISSED AN OPPORTUNITY WITH BUNKER RAMP MURAL
Every time I hear anything about the Bunker Ramp and Mural, I just shake my head because of a missed opportunity. I have been stating for a couple of years that you could put a BUILDING WRAP on the ramp that would advertise all the DTSF businesses. The best part is you could pay for the wrap with ad revenue and when the building is leased or sold, you simply roll it up and dispose of it.
NO RUINED ART! NO DRAMA!
While I haven’t priced one of these in a long time, my guess is it would be cheaper then the $30K it is taking to put up a mural (original art that will be destroyed). You could also incorporate images of DTSF intertwined into the piece.
With all the people working at city hall from media and marketing you would think at least one of them would have raised their hands and said, “Why not a building wrap?”
Oh that’s right, the ONE in ONE Sioux Falls stands for the only person making decisions in this city. No wonder he is stressed!
There’s no transparency when there’s an elephant in the room.
The ramp shouldn’t be wrapped when it’s a gift that never gave and keeps on taking.
Do you remember when the corporate spokesman, I mean mayor, chided everyone for criticizing him about how he dressed for some of the covid press conferences? Put a hat on it. Lipstick on a pig. A corpse is still a corpse. Mountgate is not going away. Follow the tusk transactions. Deep Throat will be at the Bunker Ramp next Thursday night. Red flag in the outdoor plant pot, which is on a deck. They call that code, or is that a signal? West Sioux continues to haunt us all. That’s why the JayCees moved their haunted house to the fair grounds. Apocalyptic fears, bad siding, and dead orphans, and now a dead press: All a part of the “Entertainment District”. We must keep this alive, even if some are dead. The hunter once only wanted to impress, but now we are pressed to hunt down the truth without the press. There’s obviously some ironing out to do here. I know a good dry cleaner in town. They know something about stains and a few other things as well. Could a dry cleaner make you look better at a presser, or would there still be wrinkles in your verse? What if we put trucker hats on all of the dead animals? Would we notice that they were being moved, or would it just be like a ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’? Say, speaking of Bernie, he still lives, McConnell and Feinstein not so much. Disney World has The Hall of Presidents, we had a dead animal hall, or still kinda do, what about a senate hall? We must keep the story going. Who’s the G. GordonLiddy in this case? Someone from StartUp, or would that be Set-Up. It’s time to meet….. Press on baby!……..:

“Mad about complaints on how they dressed at a presser?”…. “Say, didn’t we have an IT Director, too, who quit because people complained about where he lived?”….. “Wow, some of our leaders around here remind me of that kid in your old neighborhood who would get mad during a neighborly game of Wiffle ball, and would then just run home to his Mommy to complain about the other kids and how mean they were”….
Everyone has a Kramer in their lives. I just hope yours doesn’t go racist on you.
Kramer knew how to toss a salad in the shower. George liked to take a book store’s book into their public restroom. These are just some of the finer moments of that series. Kramer serving on a board of directors that he had no business being a part of was probably the best episode, however. We have a similar problem in Sioux Falls, too, except somehow they keep getting elected and re-elected to it.
VSG
It’s too bad that Kramer messed his career up with his once racist rant. Because I once had hopes of a Kramer spin-off from Seinfeld, but I guess not. It could have been about his early years, like Sheldon’s, and called: Young Kramer.
