Aw! A Ken and Barbie sequel. Favorably, South Dakota is neither common law nor community property. We can fornicate at will and not lose everything in divorce court. Trumpettes are expected to swing. This could be another Marilyn or Anna Nicole saga. Trump’s number one (Ivana) lies in a defiled unserviced grave that’s a dog crap haunt. Sad when Republican women succumb to male disrespect.

The real story here is not about sex. It’s about politics. Who’s behind this story? Who doesn’t want Noem to be Trump’s running mate? These are the real questions that this news story asks to be answered. Because if we obsess with the salaciousness of this story, then we do a disservice to what this is really all about. Sure, many can criticize Noem’s “family values” stances in recent years relative to this story, but that’s merely the surface and actually tangent to a much deeper story and intent that should beg us all to not ask for more, but rather who and why?

I also think from a historical perspective, that I see a pattern whenever a South Dakotan advances to political greatness or to the big times, that there are always some who immediately work to bring them down. Perhaps, to some degree this is just politics where whoever is on top is often immediately subjected to the realities of those who want to unthrone them like a children’s game of “King of the Mountain” and the acts to try to bring one down for your own gain. But when I think about this story, I am harkened to past times like when McGovern’s nomination for president immediately led to the Eagleton affair, or when Daschle first became the Democratic leader of the US Senate and 60 Minutes immediately then wanted to do a story about him, one of his financial supporters, a plane crash, Tom’s wife as a airline lobbyist, and alleged FAA interference. To a large degree, however, I think all of this – thanks to a historical perspective – is just about big players from small states up against other big players from bigger states and with the latter having greater control of the medias that influence.

Have I become a Noem apologists? No, but the real story isn’t sex, although it sells, but rather who and why? And if I’m merely a fellow South Dakotan with an inferiority complex, well, then I’ll just let history speak for itself.

( and Woodstock adds: “Yeah, maybe that’s why Thune never ran for prez, huh?”…)

We live for ‘Bill and Harmonica’ rumors. It’s refreshing that republicans are acting democrat. Paint the state airplane pink but fumigate it for the next Governor. When choices for the next President are Trump or Biden, we need gossip if not an orgy while waiting for leadership that’s not dementia from assisted living.

Long knives such as this are usually brought out closer to the national nominating conventions.
This little bit of oppo research was apparently really burning a hole in someone’s folder (or is it a binder?).

But will there be a Gary Hart(pence)-like challenge to the press
[“Follow me around. I don’t care. I’m serious. If anybody wants to put a tail on me, go ahead. They’ll be very bored.”]?
Does the Governor have a boat named Monkey Business?
Perhaps a barrel-racing horse by that name?

I believe it’s the state plane that’s used for the “Monkey Business”, but has the state legislature ever defined the meaning of “Monkey Business”, yet? Or, are we just forced to allow the “State Business” to go on as usual?…. But then again, maybe not, since we don’t know what “State Business” means or how to define it… Perhaps, some would just like us to just keep to our own business, however, and the monkey can just be for cover…. Wow, talk about ‘Bedtime for Bozo’, huh?…. With or without the cover(s)…. 🙂 #LightsCameraAction!
