Oh the irony of Mr. Rhoden about to make the invocation and breaking the gavel. No worries, I’m not superstitious, but it didn’t help an owl flew by and a black cat jumped from under the podium while this was all going on. I think Governor Hair Extensions scared them away.

  1. Knock on wood superstition stems from a Pagan belief that spirits live in trees. If you knock on the tree, you are seeking the help from good spirits and making sure bad spirits cannot cause you harm.

    Maybe repair the gavel and try again!

  2. Being the good capitalistic Republican that he is, he has broken the hammer, but what about the sickle? AND, when it comes to breaking the wood, could Xiaflex help?
