I guess I better get around to this stuff. The BIGGEST STORY IMO IS THE WAR ON OPEN GOVERNMENT. Mayor TenHaken has left the council out of key decisions (Bunker Bridge, Dead Animals, The Link Contract, Mural, and many more). He has also gotten more brazen about interrupting people during public input, violating their 1st Amendment Rights. His authoritarian colors are showing.

Here is what I came up with for poignant news stories of 2023 (some of these never saw the light of day from the local news, or some of them just nabbed it from my site, which I always say, sharing is caring.)

MORE TO COME!

3 Thoughts on “The Year in Review

“Here are a few more significant things that happened this year”…. :

    – The Sioux Falls Mental Health Alert System went from red to green after the Chick-fil-A drive-thru lane traffic began to finally become significantly reduced this year.

    – People in Taupeville were finally put in their place as they found out that they
could not stop the completion of the Veterans Highway through their backyards.

    – A hugh Black Sheep Coffee type of mural has Sioux Falls now looking like Tijuana, which is further helped by condos that are built too close to each other as well in the downtown area.

    – Governor Noem no longer works part-time at the local Sunshine Food Market.

    – Still no Chief Culture Officer to be found.

    – E-Bike discrimination, 14th Amendment issues, and potential plans to erect a statue or memorial to this issue at Van Eps Park.

    – Construction of Scarlett’s South in Taupeville has been delayed until further notice.

    – Trucker hats were all the rage in ’23, but what about ’24 and what about more tornadoes in ’24, too?

-Bunker Ramp enthusiasts look forward to ’24 as the promised “Someday”.

    “Oh, I got one more”…..:

    – Congressman Dusty Johnson became disgusted with the “Clowns” in the US House, so he decided to nominate Jim Jordan for Speaker. ( ” 🙁 “)

I see that Burger Battle talk is beginning to heat up, but personally I’m a part of the ceasefire movement myself.
