I had a good laugh today at the end of SDPTV’s broadcast of Noem’s State of the Union. After the speech, the SDPTV team interviews 4 different legislators in the last 10 minutes, and as they are closing the live stream, Brian Allen and a cameraman come stumbling in on the shot (like they just got there). They really need to get the cameraman a bag, heck even a 5 gallon pail may be handy.
This isn’t the first time BA just rolled into a scene. His camera guy set up shop in from of a Pierre radio station’s live stream of the Landowner Rights Rally Monday. He got pissed 6 years ago during the first Noem Inaugural because a radio station set up a live stream camera on a riser two hours before he arrived and said they were for tv cameras. And years ago he busted- in, last minute into a news conference regarding a murder near Mitchell. Certainly not a new thing for ol’ BA.
They were most likely late due to their courage of the Fort Pierre Burger Battle story. Apparently, the Hop Scotch Club has come up with a special sauce this year.
Maybe one of those free “15% off” Menards grocery bags would do, however, huh?
Is it just me, or is the local media overall doing a better job of covering Pierre than they used to? I think the answer is yes. Pierre used to get ignored like the history of the Civil War and the Minnesota Twins (nationally).
( and Woodstock adds: “Wow, if only Pierre had a Burger Battle, too, then watch the satellite trucks show-up in droves”…. #YesSir #TheyStillIgnoreTheTwins )
“Courage” or coverage? Come to think of it, it might just take some “courage” to cover a Ft. Pierre Burger Battle at the Hop Scotch, where coverage is generally not an issue.
