Well, I guess you can’t fool the planning commission twice. After they approved an office rezone for a supposed parking lot last Fall, the property owner wanted to take another stab at it with another lot (Last item on agenda).

The Planning Commission didn’t buy it and 4 neighbors in opposition told the commission they must deny the application because of what is laid out in Shape Places and residential.

I did get a good laugh that the property owner chickened out and sent his son ‘Luke’ to do his dirty work (probably didn’t want to get questioned about his lies). Sorry Darth, the young Skywalker failed.

It was obvious to all those watching that they want to rezone all the parcels so they can sell it as a package deal for office expansion of the new owners.

The commission said, since you are the current owner and don’t have a plan, we are denying the rezone. Now back to the Death Star.

  1. I love the bumper sticker found on The Eagle 5. Although, a better one would have said: Uranus is for Lovers…. Because I believe some of you might remember the old State of Virginia tourism motto: Vagi…, I mean, Virginia is for Lovers.
