It’s a good thing our ethically challenged city council hired this guy to run their legals. Yeah, the Dakota SCAB isn’t partisan, and my ass ain’t pale white!

  1. Copied from reddit.. any idea what site he may be talking about?

I’m familiar with his site, but the endless list of complaining (and giving a platform to a handful of the city’s most prolific complainers) became tiring very quickly. Not only did he struggle with spelling and grammar, but there was a time he was proudly proclaiming how popular his site was by citing data from Google analytics thinking the number of total page hits equated to unique visitors.

He ran around proclaiming there were thousands and thousands of people visiting his site on a daily basis but other commenters had to point out that a single user can be responsible for dozens of page views by clicking on different articles or posting comments. He argued with them to the point it was downright embarrassing. He was basically claiming his site was getting more web traffic and visitors than Kelo or the Argus…. yet he wasn’t having any luck attracting advertisers for some reason. Ugh.

On the other hand, I do think Scott is a talented artist – so there is always that

  2. Steve, I love Reddit Sioux Falls, so much bullshit there I’m surprised it doesn’t make your computer smell like it when you visit the url.

This comment has been circulating quite a few times over there and it always makes it back to me, with new twists and turns. Remember ‘Around the World’ when you were in Grade School? Same concept.

Some of the stuff is very true, but the last paragraph proves they have no clue about how my advertising or analytics work. Am I competing with the Dakota Scab? Not at all. So make fun all yah want. I don’t approach everything I do in my life as an opportunity to make money. I first do it, and if I make money, cool. DaCola has always been a hobby, because I love local government, I love everything about it, and I can talk to my legislators. I have had most of their personal cell phone numbers and have had amazing convos with them. The most memorable is reassuring Councilor Erickson she had a big winner on the line with FREE youth bus rides. I really believe I pushed her to move ahead with this.

I do this because I love local government and I love citizen participation, could care less about the hits or the money or what customer service reps trolling on Reddit have to say while they should be selling Denny’s POS credit card.
