Lying thru their effing teeth!

As I watched the referendum forum tonight I was flabbergasted by the sensational lies told by the opponents of abortion reform, rec MJ, work requirements, food tax and open primaries.

I tell people, if you have to LIE to defend your position, you have already lost the argument.

I have no idea how polling is on these measures, but I would really like to clarify some of the total bullsh!t coming from the opponents mouths, oh, and when pointed out, they took the Donald Trump playbook of double-downing on their lies, because they have nothing else.

• Abortion. The opponents keep saying you can have an abortion up until birth. Flat out lie. As the proponent of this measure said, “That is NOT an abortion, that is a delivery of a unviable fetus.” Exactly. This is a little personal for me. I have two close friends who delivered dead babies the first time they got pregnant. Not only are the emotional scars awful, that both of them still live with, they both understood that fetus needed to be removed so they didn’t become septic and died. I tell people often that abortion legalization is probably one of the greatest rights we have (had) in this country, which effects ALL of us.

• Rec MJ. Oh where to begin. I will just say watch Rhonda Milstead get herself in a bullsh!t tizzy over this, repeating lie, after lie and she would not back down. I have to give credit to Pat Lalley for leading the questions on this. The proponent, Matthew crushed it. I was surprised he wasn’t just out right laughing at the stats Rhonda was pulling from her ass. You have to wonder if she was stoned?

• Medicaid work requirements. I am opposed, as should everyone else, but the arguments of the proponents of this measure seemed like a parody of their position. I was audibly laughing at some of the anetedotes. We have a 2% unemployment rate in SD. Who the F’ck isn’t working?!? And as opponents of this measure pointed out, ‘People who are healthy are better workers.’ Do you think it sunk in on the other side?

• Food Tax elimination. Oh the fantastical web of lies the Retardtailors Association weaved tonight, like it would cost the state $656 million dollars in lost revenue and munis $51 Million in lost revenue. First off, the TardTailors are opposed because they like their customers paying taxes and not them, secondly, munis can still charge the tax, but it is a Catch 22. The state DOR collects all sales taxes and refunds munis. So why would the state DOR do this service to munis for free? They wouldn’t. So the $51 million in lost revenue is real, and over a quarter of that is Sioux Falls alone. As for the other number. Holy SHAT! The state doesn’t even collect that amount on total sales taxes each year and depends on the feds to supplement our budget by over 50% each year!!!!!! As the proponent of this measure said, Rickster the Griftster Weiland, oh crap, I can’t remember because he had so many zingers.

• Open primaries. I will say this, the parties are opposed because it will give more power to independent candidates. Don’t give them any latitude, the parties are destroying our political system in this country and it is time the largest voting block in this nation, indies, take back this country and tell the parties to GFTselves. As the proponent said, “Why are we letting 17% of the electorate decide our candidates in the general election?” Because the party bosses like it that way. I would like to thank Tom Daschle for converting me from Dem to Indy. His failed vote on the Iraq war told me that even the Dem party doesn’t understand diplomacy, or a lot of other things.

I helped elect mostly Republicans to the non-partisan Sioux Falls city council because they believed in that non-partisanship. Our parties now are lost, I have no clue what either stands for. They are ripping our country to shreds. While I think Donald Trump is a total loser, rapist, felon, liar and a complete racist he is right about one thing, our party system is bad. He of course wants to be a dictator, I just want America to be Great Again.

Now that’s a great response from a local philanthropist

So a constituent reached out asking Matt Paulson if he would be interested in helping to save the Delbridge collection (this is just a portion of his pitch);

Dear Matt Paulson,
You seem to have some very interesting ideas on how to make Sioux Falls a better place to live, work, and entertain people. Your business sense is second to none, and I am reaching out to you to help find a solution to keep, and maintain the Delbridge Taxidermy Assets as a publicly held asset in Sioux Falls. If you read pages 249-265 of the Sioux Falls Shape Place Plan, it discusses some of the same common attitudes as I have proposed to the City Council in recent months. And I am reaching out to you, to get your thoughts, opinion, and ideas.
I made a sales pitch to the City Council to create a third Business Improvement District, to be modeled after Experience Sioux Falls. I envision it to be called Explore Sioux Falls, which would promote, market, and attract people to the City by way of marketing and selling our Natural Wildlife, Nature, Green Space, History of the Community. By partnering with local businesses, we could add campgrounds, lodging, and other amenities throughout the city that could potentially raise revenues to support such causes of promoting local taxidermy itself.

While it is rough in details, it does lay out a good plan. Paulson did respond, and NOT what you would expect (or maybe you will);

Good to hear from you.

I think a BID district to support the Zoo or the Brockhouse collection would be tough because it’s not really an assessment for a specific geographic area to benefit a geographic area (like downtown).

After the mural situation, I decided I am not going to make donations to clean up messes created by the city. The issue with the Brockhouse collection is a self-inflicted wound — a problem the city created and a problem the city will need to solve for itself.

Matt

Messes made by the city? So you are blaming the mural fiasco solely on city hall? Give me a break! You were the sponsor, you could have stood your ground but instead you caved to the pressures of city hall. Sad really.

I also see that the city is full steam ahead on getting rid of the collection, this was in their bid notices this week;

24-0099 – Requests Qualifications and an Expression of Interest (RFQEI) for the Relocation of the Brockhouse Collection Housed at the Delbridge Museum of Natural History.

That collection will be gone before you can blink an eye, and the mayor will get away with it, AGAIN, because our media is busy raiding food trucks and digging thru Noem’s hair salon receipts.

Sanford updates wellness patrons

So Sanford sends out updates to patrons and this was their latest;

The City of Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation department continues to take necessary steps to finalize the purchase of this facility. We understand you may have seen news regarding the pause of the aquatics bond, which originally included the Tea-Ellis purchase agreement. The decision to pause that bond does not impact the sale, and we remain committed to working closely with Parks & Recreation to transition operations from Sanford to City of Sioux Falls no later than Jan. 1, 2025.

Yeah, this deal was inked over a year ago, but nice excuses.

A Word of Advice to the Argus Counsel

GO AFTER THE FRICKIN’ CONFLICT OF INTEREST THE COVER UP AND THE LIES!

Okay, that was my vent. A judge has granted a hearing for the Argus vs. the Scab. I have said that the Argus has a case if they go after the blatant conflict of interest with every single councilor KNOWING in advance of the vote that Matt Paulson was an investor and that he gave to every single person sitting on the dais’ campaigns. The worst part was the council and the Scab hid it from the public. That’s deception on the highest level, not only by council but by the Scab. On top of it, the only blogger covering city politics for 20 years gets told in a nasty text message from one of the owners that him and the other main writers are the only owners . . . until they weren’t.

If the Argus argues this on the original premise of not posting investor info in advance, they will lose the case. Go after the conflicts.

RIP Wave Thingy

I saw the last vestige of these tonight. Drivers have successfully destroyed every single one of you. Before the haters start in, I supported painting the streets, I actually think the painted part should go all the way thru the intersection and should be a bright hazard orange with white stripes and even verbiage that says ‘CAUTION-PEDS’. But putting out devices that cost taxpayers money and destroy vehicles is a very bad idea. Do you think the city engineers learned anything? Doubtful.
