Councilor Sigette will be proposing this ordinance on Tuesday during the informational meeting;
(j) In such a manner as to leave available less than ten feet of the roadway from the portion of the vehicle nearest to the center line of the road for the free movement of vehicular traffic in their lane of travel on Phillips Ave. between 9th and 13th streets. A violation of this subsection shall be subject to the penalty provisions of ยง 77.999.
In other words you could get a ticket for your GIGANTIC TRUCK hanging into the roadway on Phillips Avenue. I see this daily and have for years. I’m not sure how the enforcement would work, but I am guessing the meter maids would hand out the penalty. Like I said, long overdue. Nothing more annoying when someone WHO KNOWS their truck doesn’t fit and parks on Phillips anyway. A while back I saw a guy in one of these monstrosities and he parked in the last place in front of Sushi Masa, realizing the space was too small he proceeds to park the driver’s side front wheel on the sidewalk. He gets out after parking like this and say to him ‘Really?’ and he flipped me off. They should make the fine $5,000 for these dumbasses.
