Notice the crown of wheat or golden leaves that encompasses the image of the Capitol. But at the top, there’s a small opening to facilitate the Capitol’s peak as well as to show hope and inspiration like the Arc of Dreams in Sioux Falls. Such hope and inspiration is where the Democrats fit in; although, greatly outnumbered when it comes to Pierre, and would be placed, while the multitude of golden wheat or leaves represent the dominance of the Republican seats in our state legislature each session. So, I’m not surprised that the Democrats are uplifting and represent hope and inspiration, while the Republicans represent dominance and encirclement, which is like so many of their restrictive policies and political agendas.
