The Skab is at it again, being the propaganda wing of the SD GOP;

The Republican president, who last week won back the White White White House in a landslide victory

OK, they didn’t say White 3 times, but they should have. DJT got 1M more votes then he did in 2020. It wasn’t a landslide, it was a squeaker. He pretty much secured his base and Harris did not. To be honest, it is kind of sad, you had 4 years to improve your numbers and this is all you got?! A landslide in my opinion is taking the popular vote by at least 5 points.

The Skab is a Red Meat publication, and little else. I would be embarrassed as a journalist to be this bias. Oh, I am bias, but I am also an editorial blogger who doesn’t have to fight with my sales department. I also find it ironic that after a few years their subscriptions are only 7,000. Pretty sad considering they are doing public notices for over 200K people. I don’t have a subscription on my site, but if I looked at data I have about 10,000 unique visits a month. I make very little money, so I don’t care, but when you try to be the propaganda wing of the SD GOP and only have a teeny tiny subscription rate it makes you wonder if it really matters. Recently someone who advertised in the Skab told me he got no bump in business from the ad. And I said, ‘Why would yah?’ You have a bunch of right wing nuts commenting and reading the site. Extremists in both parties only make up about 20% of the electorate respectively. So why do we tolerate this horse sh!t? I encourage everyone to cancel their subscription, it’s not news, it’s just huff and puff and a bunch of misspelled words from a boozer staff.

I think once Americans will be forced to eat canned sodium filled vegetables for a year they will realize how much of a mistake it was (can’t wait to see the images of rotting vegetables in California fields). When your policy is based on discrimination, nothing good comes from it. I told friends today, enjoy your local ethic restaurants over the next few months, because after DJT takes office our options will be Panda Express and Taco Bell. As Kramer would say;

  1. Well, here’s the thing. The threshold for a landslide is 55%. Trump got 58% of the Electoral College vote (312), but only 50% of the popular vote in 2024. So, it was a EC landslide, but not a popular vote landslide. AND, keep in mind, Trump received 306 EC votes in ’16, the last time he won, which was an EC landslide at 57%, but he took second in the popular vote with 46% of the popular vote. So, the fact that you can win the EC in a landslide without winning the popular vote makes the EC percentage an imperfect judge of whether a victory was a true landslide, but a popular vote count will always be a good judge of that, but unfortunately for Trump, he has never surpassed the 55% marker to call his popular vote counts a landslide or landslides.

    But I’m not surprised that the Dakota (War College) Scout called Trump’s 2024 victory a landslide, because this is the same Republican rag that printed three negative stories about South Dakota Republican leaders as soon as Scott and I, through my comments, called out the D(WC)S for being a partisan rag. AND, nothing more clearly proves this partisan criticism than all of the big Republican ads that can be found in this rag around election time. #RepublicanRecord #ThuneTimes #RoundsRecorder #NoemNews #DustyDispatch #TrumpTribune #VanceVox

  2. “But let’s not forget that under Trump we lost the Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell, but luckily Biden brought it back”….

  3. I might also add that it is conceivable that someone could win the presidency with 55% of the popular vote – a landslide – but with only 50.2% of the EC vote(270). Now, that would have to happen in an even more divided country than we are now, but it could happen. But such a scenario would, in my opinion, be a landslide because the popular vote is the true judge of what a landslide is, while using the EC votes is merely paying homage to a Constitution requirement that was primarily constructed not to express electoral success and thus popularity as much as to protect the minority interests of the slave states in time and place.

  4. I don’t think people should waste a lot of time worrying about vegetables rotting in the fields. I believe the US averages about 40k deportations a month or 500k a year. The Biden administration claims to have doubled that number post Covid but accurate numbers is the first casualty in politics. So if they work just the known felons with violent or drug convictions allowed in during the last administration they won’t get to any one else for at least a year. They would have to increase the deportation rate by a factor of ten to come anywhere near returning to the status quo pre 2020 during the next four years and that would not deal with the massive pre 2020 backlog. If employers don’t do stupid things like rehire people who they know were previously deported and keep up the donations to both parties they are not likely to ever get on the radar. Just getting people to do the security checks to expand the deportation staffing will delay the process by years. No doubt the media will cover every time a hardworking group of people is deported because that is the illusion they want to create. The reality is that DHS has pursued a rational strategy of prioritizing who gets deportation attention and I don’t think they every get much beyond the convicted felon list.

  5. Trump only got 78 miles of fence down in his first term. In fact, Trump, with the Republicans controlling the entire Congress for the first two years of his first term and having been the author of ‘The Art of the Deal’, couldn’t even get the Republicans to authorize funding for his wall, so he took money from Defense to pay for his 78 miles.

    Now Peal Clutcher claims they’ll just go after the felons, or better yet, that Trump will once again fail to deliver.

    Because the only thing that Trump did in his first term, of any significance, is that he gave the rich another tax break they didn’t need. #DrinkBleach

  6. The Dakota Scout will always be “The Dakota Bigot” to us. They cater to MAGAt extremists, anti-vaxxers, anti-mask, chemtrail and conspiracy enthusiasts. This is the type of rag we would see next to the Enquirer at the grocery store checkout. You browse it while waiting to checkout and place it back on the rack. One would never waste their money on it unless they are way out there in the world of crazy conspiracies.
