It didn’t hit at first. A friend texted me today that a great man died. I did not know what to think. A few years ago I took a weird trip to the Hills to see a ‘Honor the Earth’ concert put on by Native Americans. Pete put it on, he was the organizer. Between meeting him and Arlo Guthrie, I was in a complete different world. I want people to know, whether you like his music or not, doesn’t matter. We don’t make people like this anymore.
In October of 1980, Peter, Paul, and Mary did a fundraiser/benefit for McGovern’s re-election campaign for the US Senate in Sioux Falls at the Coliseum. It was the only time I ever saw them in concert. The tickets at the time, I believe, were $8 per person.

AND, speaking of ‘Blowing in the Wind,’ make sure to check out the current movie, ‘A Complete Unknown.’ It’s an excellent movie that highlights Dylan’s relationship with Johnny Cash, among many things, but there’s never any mention of the Beatles, which I thought was interesting. I remember reading once that George Harrison claimed that Dylan introduced the Beatles to weed. 🙂
It’s my understanding that Minerva’s $55 Burger Battle burger comes with black charred fries (No, I’m serious). Perhaps, they should rename this event the Carcinogenic Battle. #TongueTwistingRedundancy #BurgerBattleBurger #WouldYouLikeCancerWithThat?
