The meeting is to discuss the purpose for the fence at the Dudley House. The meeting is Monday night, starting at 6 p.m. at the downtown library.

I texted councilor Merkouris before first reading asking him who came up with the idea to build the fence and he said it was the mayor’s, but he was supportive. I also don’t think the other 6 councilors that are NOT in leadership knew about it until the agenda was released.

I continue to shake my head that this council allows the mayor to write policy (their job) and not share that with them until the last minute. Poops knew this would be controversial. As one councilor said to me, “Would have been nice to have this meeting BEFORE it got on the agenda.”

Yah Think?

  1. Oh, this Mayor’s end goal is to have this whole area vacated. The Canine Clipping Post is already closed from what I’ve read. What is aggravating is how sneaky he tries to be about it. Will be so glad when his term is finished.

  2. Our Mayor could use an Elon…. Oh wait, he has Matt. 🙂 ….. Nevermind…..

  3. “Homeless Fence Meeting” has a terrible ring to it, but then again, this is the Age of Trump, isn’t it? AND, didn’t our Mayor once give Trump a B+? #SoThereYouGo

( and Woodstock adds: “‘Homeless Fence Meeting’?”….. ( ….. “But then again, isn’t that how the Third Reich once got started?”….. 🙁 )

  4. I’ve never met Merkouris, didn’t vote for him, but I’ve come to like his style. Unlike most, he actually is engaged and seems to give a shit. I hope he runs again.

  5. What about homeless fencing? That could be a new sport at the Summer Olympics. AND, since they are without a home or a future, they could battle it to the bitter end. I could see this sport taking off. Maybe Taylor would attend. AND, without any protection, they could battle it to the bloody end. I bet the Brits would be good at that one. While the Russians would have staged homeless perform, where drugging would already be the norm, and the Indians (India) would have a lot to pick from, huh?….. Now, if you think my comments here are insensitive, well, then I guess I’ll just let you live in that perfect world where you fence off the homeless, huh?
