The state should be investing in permanent structures and retaining teachers when it comes to education spending, NOT a piece of equipment that will be obsolete in one year like a piece of shit PC laptop, especially after it gets trashed by a student. I see this as a way for the Governor to give one of his buddies a contract to supply laptops to the schools. The legislators need to grow a sack on this issue, call special session and shut down this funding, then their next step should be censuring Rounds or even impeachment for overstepping his executive powers. I can’t beleive the entire body of the legislative branch allows Rounds to step all over them. Pussy-whipped.
Lets not forget about the amazing amount of $ the state spends repairing these laptops at a service center in Sioux Falls. Their shalves are LINED with laptops that never even get picked up after they are fixed because they are replacing them with new laptops in the meantime. Wasteful isn’t even an adequate word for it.
What’s the name of this ‘service center’? Would be interesting to do a track on the business owner and his ‘pheasant hunting’ relationship with Marion Rounds.
