Testimony ended on September 4, 2009 in this case, so why is it taking so long for Judge Caldwell to give her opinion? Good question. It almost makes you wonder if she is dragging her feet to see if the city pulls a rabbit out of their hat. I don’t know, I am not a lawyer, but it sure seems suspicious to me. Any lawyers want to weigh in? Is this a long time to wait for a verdict?
BTW, if you are not familiar with the case, SF citizen Dan Daily is contesting unfair code enforcement, it took over 2 years just to get his case heard. The city has probably spent over $100,000 in legal fees fighting a $200 fine.
