It seems not only does the Gargoyle Leader have to put Staggers down, Stormland-TV news cannot resist either. At their six-o-clock news it was clear that Kermit had won their poll, but instead of presenting those results they showed Vernon as having the top favorable rating;

Not only is this misleading, it borders on deception and libel. Doesn’t matter if you like Oklahoma State or Nebraska, it only matters who wins. Kermit won the poll, the poll you paid for. I like Santa Claus, doesn’t mean I would elect him to mayor.

This election is about qualifications, something your editors, news directors, camera men, photographers, journalists and probably janitors lack. You are pathetic source of news and you wonder why day in and day out people tune out the news? Because you try to influence instead of inform. In these last 12 days, I beg you to report the news, as is. In fact, I challenge you, because it seems you struggle with it.

As a blogger, it is MY job to influence, not inform. But it seems now days I’m the one that has to put the truth out there. How sad coming from a guy who does it in his underware while listening to his I-Pod.

  1. I agree with you on the Stormland brand of news gathering and. But in all fairness to KELO, they did do a piece just now on Staggers leading in polling.

  2. Underware? Is that one of those Jeff Foxworthy type words? As in “If you’re looking for that engine block in my front yard I buried it in a pile of leaves so it is underware”.

  3. PROPAGANDA in the title. It’s the perfect word to describe local news. In suppressed nations media is forced to say/print what they’re told. Here, they do it because they are a part of it and represent it.

“Because you try to influence instead of inform.” Right on regarding Argus and KELObland.

“As a blogger, it is MY job to influence, not inform.” The start of ethics for bloggers? There goes the fun part.

  4. Poly – why do they mention only one co-owner… isn’t Costello one of the other co-owners? Is the Argus purposefully hiding that fact from the readers?

Ground Round was supposed to close a few years back if I recall and somehow they managed to stay afloat. Makes you wonder what the problem is.

Maybe people weren’t making croutons fast enough?

  5. Once upon a time there was an alcohol and cholesterol cartel comprised of 40 somethings. Their leader was an ex-ENRON type who used naive business leaders at the root of his fake companies pyramid. Castillo was a leading lieutenant who eventually took control once ‘Red’ overdosed from wine, women, and ground beef. Castillo has been losing control and will eventually be indicted for tax fraud and racketeering. Only minimum wage employees are affected so the general population finds this story entertaining but hardly damaging.

Yes indeed mr costello is, or was, a partner in the failed Ground Round enterprise. According to the stormland version of this story, 1.4 million in bank loans are still outstanding. AND, like the argus, not a peep about costello’s association. This blog is THE ONLY PLACE WHERE YOU CAN SEE THE TRUTH.

    Costner says:

Is the Argus purposefully hiding that fact from the readers?

Makes you wonder. And don’t leave out KELO.

Maybe mr costello has completely severed his ties with United Enterprises GR LLC in the last 5 months. Don’t know. But I do know we deserve a better explanation of just the hell is going on here.

    A little background.

  7. Castillo intends to leave one criminal enterprise for another (Home Rule-Dictator Mayor). If he is somehow elected, immediately recall.

There’s a handful of constitutional cases in progress. They are unreported in the media because Sioux Falls is without free speech.

    Two methods here.

    1. CASTILLO METHOD. Stall, obstruct, and continue litigation into state court costing the city millions. Continue emptying the city treasury to a point where there’s no recovery.

    2. Expose what has been happening the past 8 years. Settle litigation and restore constitutional democracy.

  8. Poly,

The true news item of the poll is the election numbers. The likability numbers are interesting, but mean little. Yet those figures were their main news feature at 6, with no divulging who was actually the leader in the race. That poll should have been the basis for both the 6 and 10 reports, with the other poll added for the longer 10 pm feature.

  9. Scott,

I take little stock in any poll conducted by telephone. Way too much room for error, in spite of the pollsters claims.
Telephone polls are not representative samples from a general population. First off, it is against the law to conduct polls to mobile phone users. There alone is a huge sampling bias. Second, for those who do have land lines, how many are stupid enough to pick up the phone from an “unknown” on caller ID? And if you are, then YOU are one of the 800 who might have answered their questions. Odds are many refused to be a part of it. And how are the questions worded? That in itself can be very telling. Remember when John mcCain was leading bush in the 2000 race for president? Then a telehone poll came out in the South Carolina primary asking this question.

Would you be more or less inclined to vote for John McCain if you knew he fathered an illegitimate black baby?

John McCain went on to lose that primary which he was leading at the time based in large part on that “push” poll. So, wording in these piece of shit telephone polls does play a role in how those stupid enough to pick up a call from a stranger might respond.

  10. Poly-

I may be wrong, but I think this poll was conducted by mail.

Also, Mason Dixon is pretty accurate. They predicted quite a few races in the state.

  11. Poly,

I agree that polls aren’t as indicative of the true numbers as they once were. That doesn’t take away from the fact that KELO chose to make a bigger story out of their boy leading a secondary survey that really has no bearing on what we’ll see in two weeks.

  12. l3wis:

The Mason Dixon polls hilited for the last week by the argus were all done by land line telephone. And Scott, you are right about kelo and their favorite son.

  13. I wonder if they polled any people who don’t have landlines. We’re a growing demographic and the pollsters are seemingly clueless.

  14. I quit watching kelo last year when they were on the verge of advocating mandatory vaccinations for h1n1 flu by telling everyone that the primary and secondary groups ELIGIBLE to roll up their sleeves had not arrived in full force, and that anyone else stupid enough to sign up to be sick could now come in and submit to their protocol.
