20 Thoughts on “Meet Noem today at the Tea Bagger get together

I’d just like to hear the back story on that picture. It doesn’t go along with her normal theme of “glamour shot photo taken with the camera at a 30 degree angle to make me look young and innovative”.

One thing about Noem that does bother me is her lack of higher education. I know she has taken some classes, but she has never finished her degree – so essentially a vote for her is saying a high school education is good enough. Then again… a high school education might be more than most of the Tea Party crowd has, so it could work to her advantage (never mind that most of her supporters most likely would never take the time to learn anything about her education much less the $3Million in farm subsidies she has collected).

  2. I heard some stories yesterday about how completely uninformed she is about various issues. How do you speak in Union County and now know anything about Hyperion?

Politicians are uninformed. Recently a friend of mine had a convo with Mayor Mike about trimming the trees in the blvd, he said that property owners should be trimming their own trees. She had to inform him that the city owns the trees in the blvd not the adjacent property owner.

Also, Councilor Entennman never finished college and he seemed to do pretty well for himself.

Is that really a picture of Kristi Noem? If so where did it come from?

This is South Dakota. We don’t need no fancy booklearnin’. Good old common sense and bootstraps are all we need.

  6. JR- It is her. It came from her old blog she had that she has taken down. I can’t remember what she was blogging about.

as long as she can do her “goezinta’s” we will be fine.

I guess I shouldn’t be so hard on her – at least she isn’t hiding the fact that she hasn’t finished college and apparantly she has even been continuing to pursue her degree so she can finish up.

I don’t mean to suggest only college educated people are capable of running for public office or that a degree somehow suggests they are smarter, but at the same time I’d like to think we are sending our best and brightest to represent us.

A fancy rodeo beltbuckle will only get you so far.

I think the belt buckle is kinda sexy.

Does she trade chickens for medical services like the rocket scientist in Nevada?

    Yup, Federally subsidized chickens.

Don’t think she will be gone after the Primary. I am willing to be she will be a Lt Gov candidate.

I always come in late on these convos…apologize for that. Just wanted to say that…yes…technically the City owns the trees in the Boulevard. However, the property owner is still responsible for maintaining and/or removing the trees if necessary. Legally the City has the authority to give property owners a notice and if they do not comply with a notice to trim or remove a tree, the City can take action and assess the property for the costs.

Yea…l3wis is well aware of that fact – and surprisingly focused upon it as some great injustice in the world. 😉

  15. “City can take action and assess the property for the costs.”

Not anymore, or at least until they change the city charter to include ‘Due Process’

I was wondering if Kristi is runing for Congress to see if she can implement a tuition reimbursement plan so that she can finish college

As large as Kristi’s family farm is and with all of the farm subsidies they have recieved, there is no reason that she couldn’t have her degree already. I don’t know if she has kids, but I know lots of married women with kids, that go to college, and they sure as the world aren’t as well to do as the Noems.

Red- Why does she need a college degree? Seems she has gotten everything she has wanted in her life. I guarantee if she wins the primary (which I think she will) she has a very good chance of beating Princess Steffy.

I do not know how good she will be but I have used her contact page a few times……with out a response. She seems to fit the bill to be a government offical, wants the vote but will not answer the questions.

  20. Oh, I agree. While I am not a fan of Steffy lately, the only thing I think Noem would accomplish in Washington is bettering herself.
