While I think Michael Steele is a gigantic idiot (gigantic) I think Palin as the new RNC chair would be the biggest gift to Democrats since she f’d up McCain’s nomination for president. Please, Please, Please, appoint her!

I was looking for audio the other night for the next Rant a Bit, and I stumbled upon her energy policy speech in Texas from a couple of weeks ago. My God she’s an imbecile…even worse than I ever realized before.
Steele might just apprecaite her taking his job. After about six months the GOP would surely miss him, and he could look back and say “see… I told you it wasn’t as easy as it looked”.
I hate to pull the race card, but the Republicans put Steele in place because they wanted to be known for something other than the party of white men… and unfortunately the experiment backfired on them. Maybe they should just admit they need a brainless old hypocritical white guy running the show who doesn’t even share a zip code with new ideas.

Miller would be great, but you have to remember what the position of party chairman entails. Saying stupid things to get the base riled up and send in money. Miller wouldn’t play that game and fund-raising would be way down.
I’ll bet that not even 20% of the population has any idea who Steele is or what his position is. He’s not the leader of the Republican party, he’s the chief fundraiser.
I read someplace, earlier today, that Palin is referring to herself as a Mother grizzly, along with her female followers. She said you know people don’t mess with Mother grizzlies. The odd part of that is, don’t bears stay at home and raise their young, instead of running all over the country making speeches.

As far as Howard Dean, he is an idiot too – and he has put his foot in it just as often as Steele… the point being? I didn’t see anyone defending Dean here because *gasp* this topic wasn’t about Dean. The fact is the GOP is the only party that really wants Steele gone, but nobody wants to be the one to publicly say it for fear of the experiment backfiring. Heck – after the GOP pretty much distanced themselves from Colin Powell, the only significant non-white guy they can refer to as proof they believe in diversity is Steele.
Aside from Steele, there really isn’t any significant diversity in the Republican party just as there isn’t any level of differing opinion. Most of those guys would rather be bald than part their hair on the left, and their idea of diversity comes from accepting people with various shades of red on their ties.

You also got that bass-ackwards, Powell moved away from the GOP, with the culmination being his endorsement of Obama. Obama doesn’t have a single conservative idea, no military background, nor does he show any “moderation” that Powell urged for the GOP, so you tell me why Powell would endorse him Mr. race card throwerdowner?
The thread is about the Party Chairman, and speculation of who might replace him, assuming he must be replaced since he’s made a stupid comment or two. My point was drawing a comparision to Dean highlights the glaring double standard. Same one that exists with Palin (also mentioned by the OP), where she says something stupid and she’s blasted continually. Biden does the same and the same people blasting Palin give us the “Well, that’s just good, old Joe” line of crap. No one called for Biden to step down, now did they?
Reid still has his job & Obama’s love even after vocalizing his admiration of “light skinned” Obama’s “negro dialect” on/off switch.

CT isn’t really significant in terms of politics because he is a concrete figure. He can do or say whatever he wants and there isn’t a single election tied to it.
As far as Jindal… yea I would argue he isn’t significant. Sure they gave him an opportunity to give a speech to a nationwide audience once – and he proceeded to blow it. From that point forward he is typically mentioned as an afterthought… I don’t think the GOP is setting him up to be a rising star as they were trying to do so originally.
Back to Steele for a moment – I personally don’t think he has to go, but I think the GOP would be better off without him. He seems to put his foot in it often enough that he seems to serve the Democratic party more often that the Republican party.
Is that a double-standard? Heck no… just reality.
