John’s not an elitist, he only owns one private jet. “But I didn’t have that jet when I spent 900 years in a POW camp.”
On another note, 60 Minutes had a good show on last night featuring interviews of both candidates. Both came off pretty intelligent and as true believers in their agendas.
My problem is this: McCain’s record is in a lot of way the opposite of what he clains to want to do, and Obama’s record is largely non-existant. It certainly doesn’t make the choice any easier.
I would have a much easier time believing that McCain does want to reform Washington if his entire campaign staff wasn’t made up of lobbyists. Obama may lack experience but he does have some pretty good people advising him, and I think he would assemble a strong cabinet. McCain has a fired CEO advising him on the economy and Obama has Warren Buffet. You do the math.
Oh. They meant “elitist” as in “Obama’s embarrassingly more qualified than John McCain (and Sarah Palin, since McCain will keel over any day now),” not “rich.”
If Obama’s inexperienced at sending us to war over false reasons, allowing an unregulated economy to tank, and failing to ensure that every American has health coverage, then I’ll take that inexperience any day.
I’m just against him because he is a Republican lawmaker who has voted with SHRUB 90% of the time – yeah, big reformer.
“If Obama’s inexperienced at sending us to war over false reasons, allowing an unregulated economy to tank, and failing to ensure that every American has health coverage, then I’ll take that inexperience any day.”
My concern is his failure to accomplish any of those things (or even try to) yet. He’s been a senator for a couple of years now, and could easily introduce legislation that would put his money where his mouth is.
I think the Democratic congress had pretty much given up after a few months, because BUSH just veto’s every piece of legislation or puts in signing statements. I agree they need to try harder instead of whining, I’m just saying.
They should do what the republicans did in ’93-’94: take it directly to the people.
They need to make the case for their agenda clearly as a party, not individuals, and call Bush and Friends out on it. Think of it as going over someone’s head directly to their supervisor.
The “contract with America” may have been farcical, but it put the republicans in power for quite a while and got a lot of their agenda passed.
Since when is success something to be ashamed of? The source of most of that money, Cindy McCain’s father, started with nothing. He was a self-made man. Why shouldn’t Cindy and her family benefit from it, if that is what he wanted?
Did anybody count TeRAYZA Heinz Kerry’s money or cars or houses? No. Nor should they. WHO CARES???
And if hobnobbing with Hollywood wackos who paid $28,000 for a fund-raiser isn’t elitist, neither is having a bunch of vehicles and houses.
