    Long story short.

    GOP freshman are so embarrassed about voting for Paul Ryan’s budget they actually wrote a letter to President Obama asking him to make Democrats stop criticizing them for voting to end Medicare.

    Great graphic/chart on MSNBC tonoight showing how as oil company profits have gone steadily up over the past 8 years, number of employees of oil companies have gone down. I.E., more $$$ in the hands of the already wealthy =/= more “job creation”.

    I got into a discussion with a ‘republican’ about this the other day, he seemed to blame the EPA and lack of refineries for oil prices being high. I basically told him that that is untrue. Why would oil companies want to build more refineries? When they can keep the demand high. I also told him that speculators are what keeps the price high. Doesn’t anyone find it suspicious that prices go down during low travel and up during high travel?

    I got a form letter from Kristi the other day bragging about reopening drilling in the Gulf.

    In my reply I asked her two questions:

    1) Will the oil found and recovered in the Gulf go to the USA exclusively, or go on the world market at OPEC prices – like the rest of the oil currently drilled here. (If it goes on the world market – why should WE take all of the risks and not get the oil?)

    and

    2) If the oil DOES come exclusively to America at lower than market-set prices – how is that not socialism? (Government control of private business)
