Bite him in the butt Sen Stan…
I find it interesting in this “My-Gosch-I-Gant-stand-it-any-longer-gate”, that from what I gather, the AG wants to quash the thing as untimely, and not get to the merits of the issue as to whether or not the actions were improper in allowing the petitions as notarized.
Jackley needs that outcome to cover his tailpipe bc he just spent a shitload and “found” no wrong doing at SOS. If Strong’s issue gets to the merits and a Court finds Gant should not have accepted petitions Gosch notarized, the AG, the SOS and speaker pro tem would instantly look like clods. So Marty instructs an assistant to get the Writ bounced on procedural grounds as untimely.
This doesn’t sit well with Gosch’s ego so he has to intervene on the merits. Now Gosch has put forth an argument (solid or not) to vindicate himself, but there is a good chance it will never be heard if the thing gets quashed as untimely. Then he, Marty and the SOS can proudly walk about as if all vindicated.
If the Writ doesn’t get quashed as untimely, now that’s when it might get interesting. If that happens, and it is shown Gant knew he shouldn’t have allowed the petitions but did so anyways? Stan will have fun with that one. Either way Gant is Texas Toast. I call him Texas Toast because he is like regular toast, but bigger.
That reminds me, it appears the GOP has rapidly expanded its base.
You have to admit that with that wide of a base the GOP will be hard to topple.
He’s the BK muffin, Nice to see ya back Grudz!
Anooner, I saw that pict. Do you think they discussed tailors?
I think I’m banned Mr. Testor so each post I make here is treading thin ice.
You really have to respect a man who will take his own party members to task when he sees an injustice. In a world where the two parties can’t agree on anything and where nobody dares speak out against his or her own party for fear it could allow the other side to gain some traction, it is refreshing to see a State Senator stand up and say what so many others are already thinking.
Kudos to you Senator Adelstein. I appreciate the fact you were willing to step out of formation for the betterment of all South Dakotans… even the ones who don’t live anywhere near your district.
By the way, has anyone else noticed that Senator Adelstein looks a lot like the Dos Equis “Most Interesting Man In The World”?
If he ever runs for higher office, it would be a shame to not take advantage of that meme.
“I don’t always call on politicians to resign, but when I do, I call on Jason Gant.”
I think standing next to a larger man in dark stripes actually has a slimming effect on PP.
When piers condemn you, you’re on your way out.
Gant will get a strong challenge in ’14 from a Dem or an R.
