I have often suspected Mayor Mike Subprime ‘Sanford’ Spaceheater may be looking at a run for governor. People with those kind of personalities are always looking for the ‘next big opportunity’. Mike has already accomplished what he wanted to as mayor, getting an Events Center built, he has also over extended our city to the max. In a business man’s eyes, he accomplished his goals, broke the bank while doing so, now it is time to move along and let the next person clean up the mess. He certainly doesn’t bode well against other prominent Dems in our state, especially Herseth.
The first question was whether I had a favorable or unfavorable opinion of Daugaard, Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, Mike Huether and Scott Heidepriem.
I hope he does run, but I have a feeling he will suffer the same demise as other Democrats, that and his ‘style’ would never fly in West River. I know Mike will talk about his many accomplishments, but people have to realize that the citizens of SF took on extreme debt to make these things happen. He may have wrote the checks, but we will be paying the bill.

I’m intrigued by the potential candidacy of Herseth-Sandlin. Not sure if she’d do more good as a Governor or a Senator. SHS vs. Noem rematch in 2014 for Johnson’s seat?

Janoct before Huether, that’s for sure. Huether has brainwashed the call center types. He’ll never sell himself to intelligent state residents. Ag and rancher types are backward but they recognize lies and know Huether would fill his own pockets without doing anything for the state.
Janoct can stop Huether when he stops the debate because he needs a bafroom.
If MMM runs for governor or the senate, will he hire Hildebrand, or is there now too much bad blood between the two?
1. Let see, the credit card state the nation has learned to hate, has a chance to send one of the kings of credit to Washington…
2. Who would vote for him in South Dakota? GOP. Not so much. The TeaBaggers. Not so much. Democrats? Even if they did, the SD Democratic party is so weak and worthless there are not enough of them.
3. No matter how much money TDenny would give him to do it, what we learned in 2012 was massive money does not by itself win elections.
If Gordon Howie, or one of his surrogates, runs against Daugaard for the Republican gubernatorial nomination next year, then the Democrats have a chance in 2014. Because he would help to alienate the Right against the Daugaard team.
Huether is a better gubernatorial candidate then Sandlin for the Democrats in 2014 primarily because of the abortion issue. He has no record on it, while Sandlin’s Pro-choice record would work against her in such a race.
Abortion appears to be less of an issue for congressional candidates in South Dakota, thus Sandlin would be better served to run for the Senate in 2014, and in my opinion a stronger Democratic nominee for the Senate than either Johnson.
Brendan should run against Noem in 2016 and not 2014. Unless Noem jumps into the 2014 Republican Senatorial race, which in that case Brendan should run for the House in 2014, 2016 would be a safer bet for him with the help of the greater left of center voter turn out in a presidential year.
Who should we run against Noem for the House in 2014? Maybe we should run Janoct. It would go like this:
