The mayor didn’t appear for his own ethics hearing. City attorney cited he was ‘busy’. City attorney has become just another politician. A REAL attorney would have noted the mayor is not subject to this procedure because ordinance states he appoints the board. You can’t appoint your own jury. The council should have the authority to reprimand the mayor. Unless/until they invoke an ordinance allowing for sequester or impeachment, they are but another dysfunctional body and a lack of democratic ‘checks & balances’ prevails.
The mayor is always to busy. It’s hard work looking around to take credit for someone else’s achievement.
Huether is also the puppet master of the city council. Is there anything he doesn’t have dictatorial control of?
Seems ‘checks & balances’ is skim checks from city contractors and principal budget balance for indoor tennis & pool.
