According to the Argus Leader, the mayor made a little speech at an SDSU Extension project NW of Sioux Falls;

I guess all that beer can collecting he did in Yankton as a youth prepared him for farming. Mike is going to have to get a hell of a lot more dirt on his hands if he thinks he is going to sucker some farmers into voting for him as governor.

West River and farmers see Huether for the carnival barker that he is. He got elected mayor because brain dead credit card call center types got free lunch for voting. That’s not gonna work across the state.
There’s a country western song, ‘Coca Cola Cowboy’. Huether’s a Coca Cola farmer/rancher. He’ll not fit with hard working rural types. Perhaps a 10 gallon hat, big belt buckle, and platform boots.
