Do we need an new city of Sioux Falls Administration (or as the mayor is now calling it, the Public Services) building? Several members of the new City Council are keeping their promises to do something about it. On May 24, 2016 the Open Discussion portion of their Informational Meeting showed Greg Neitzert and Theresa Stehly taking the leadership roles in moving the process along.

  1. What’s likely is Huether will award the contract without council approval to his buddies without competitive bid process. It happened with the events center while it was an idea without a location. The council and/or the vote can stop it but then (post Huether) it will happen. The problem then is overpriced contractors get the work or public funds must be used to get out of the scrupulous overinflated arrangement. It becomes a 20 million project with 5 million to crooks without they doing any of the work.
Answer: Let Huether award it but then lease an existing building instead.
