Looks like it is going to be Round II here shortly on the proposed admin building. This isn’t a deferral, this is an attempt to put building a NEW building to rest.
First reading on July 12th. Â Second reading July 19th.
Councilors Neitzert and Erickson are sponsoring the repeal.
This would simply be a repeal of the currently scheduled October 1st proposal. Â If nothing is done they can do the bonding on October 1st.

We know this is another Huether scheme for a big non-competitive bid rigged kickbacks project. Wait till he’s gone. Then, reconsider when there’s no dictator and a new charter. Meanwhile, rent space as needed. There’s lots of vacant office space downtown. Perhaps, cut the city attorney’s offices. They don’t take cases to court, lose at every occasion, and represent the mayor only. It’s dysfunctional and private (not public). Here’s 3,000 sf not needed.

Who knows, the next Mayor may find that all the employees that Huether added aren’t needed anyway and the extra space is unnecessary.
The next Mayor might find it unnecessary to employ engineers just to hire outside engineers for most projects. Or employ attorneys just to hire outside attorneys for every court case.
Going back to the website as an example, sounds like I.T. could be downsized and partially outsourced also.
