Today when I went to go absentee vote at the IPC center, this was what greeted me at the entrance. No lawn signs, sandwich boards, or even window postings that this was the place to absentee vote. When I walked in, the room for absentee voting was visible.
After I finished voting I noticed there was no water roller to seal my envelope and IÂ told the person working it would probably be a good idea to have one (for those of us that don’t want to lick a foot of glue).
I also noticed they once again are going with voting centers only in the Southern portion of the district even though all other governments within Sioux Falls use precincts throughout the city.
The school district always shrugs their shoulders when it comes to low voter turnout. Maybe there is a reason why. And with their cold war communist level voting results from an internally hand counted bond election I’m not sure many people really trust them to run an election properly.
Do you think there is a relationship between more crowded schools on the north side and fewer and more crowded “voting centers” on the north side as well?

Now that a federal judge has ruled that outside money can legally influence an election under the grounds of free speech, does this mean that establishment board candidates will feel emboldened by this decision, or will they hold to the Mickelson principle on this matter?….Oh, that’s right, never mind……

With four candidates vying for two spots, my guess is that no one will obtain 85% of the vote, or will someone?…. But then you know what they say, “85 is the new 26.”

These elections are sooo crooked. Measure voter turnout against employment in the district. It should be mandatory simply on the basis of cost that would require a school board election be tied into a municipal, state and/or federal election.
