Paul did a couple of interviews today, from a hotel room. Where did our mayor go? If it was a family emergency, I would totally understand, but I’m not sure Paul would be doing an interview with CNN during a family emergency.

They just dismissed Councilor Neitzert for blatantly violating city ordinance by taking a paid for lobbyist trip. Is Paul on a paid for lobbyist trip? Are the taxpayers paying for it? I don’t know.

As I have mentioned several times in the past, embrace technology and meet with people via phone or internet. You know, like some city employees did for months working from home. What is so important that the Mayor had to get on a plane (or in a car) and meet with people in person? I’m guessing it has little to do with city business.

We will see. Maybe he will tell us some day . . . oh that’s right, our elected officials don’t give us reports anymore from what they learn on trips.

Sidenote; At the end of the interview today on Belfrage about panhandling (in which Erickson and Neitzert never talked about a possible citation to people giving the panhandlers money – which would solve the problem real quick) Neitzert continued to peddle the flat out lie that he was politically attacked over the ethics complaint. He never proved that in the hearing, because it never happened. As I said already, it is pretty cut and dry, you violated the ordinance and 5 best friends gave you a pass.

  1. Bahahahahah!! I had the same thought about the mayor’s background in his interview with John King of CNN this morning.

Did you also notice he got a little nervous about the question involving our governor? And then went tangent with it by discussing hunting?

Apparently, King has our mayor on his Rolodex and must think he has a political future. All the more reason good Democrats in this state need to stop “Liking” the mayor on social media.

  2. “What about that Trump tonight, huh? What a f’ckr! What a f’ing embarrassment! He’s our president?! Really?! So the nation that put a man on the Moon and won the Cold War has this clown as our president now? America has become the laughing stock of the world. How sad, how sad. How will we ever explain this era to our grandkids? If we survive it, that is.”

    “Woodstock”

  3. Where ever and for what occasion, it was clearly an event placed in the ‘clean-shaven, open-collar dress shirt, sport jacket, sans trucker hat’ category.

  4. VSG,
AFA good Democrats “Liking” posts to social media by PTH – Perhaps the ‘good Democrats’ are drawn to PTH’s ideology, sensing common ground.
Excepting for his digital detective work on behalf of the Rounds campaign and his voter registration as a ‘Republican’, PTH has done more to identify as a liberal than as a Republican.

    – Big spending from tax coffers. Check.
    – Gleefully celebrates big spending for things not directly identified as a proper role of government (e.g. $1.5 million to State Theatre project). Check.
    – Initial, instinctual response to pandemic (before the Queen put him in his place), a government ordered complete lock down (more similar to gubernatorial actions in Wisconsin and Minnesota). Check.

The cronyist system of channeling government money to political insiders is an occurence which is not limited by political party registration. Check out the appointment of cronies to municipal jobs and flow of money from city government in Minneapolis and St Paul. Especially St Paul.
The practice of cronyism is noted in South Dakota as one which is ‘Republican’ because Republicans have been the party in control.
It IS cute the way in which the political establishment in South Dakota white-wash as ‘public-private partnerships’ the cronyism in order that it can be accepted by those who might fancy themselves as ‘free market’.

PTH can spout the mantra of “this smells like freedom” while on CNN*, but his gut-level instinctual respose to the pandemic was more similar to those of the Democrat Governors in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

    * Governor Noem has the South Dakota franchise on Fox News. PTH has apparently cornered the market on CNN.
Which South Dakota politician will carve out a niche as contributor on MSNBC?

  5. It’s proven an ethics hearing is approval for privately sponsored vacations. Noem can’t remember where she is governor. Come home once in awhile. Leave panhandlers alone. A citation is a waste of resources. They can’t and won’t pay. Don’t put them in jail either. They want the 3 squares and a cot. How about a free ride to the city limits?

The presidential debate reminds me of when I couldn’t sleep because of a tomcat fight outside. How about keep the opponents mike off when it’s not his turn to speak?

Im writing in OPRA. She’s wealthy, a minority, and a woman. More importantly, she’s not a narcissist and supports her man. Men are weak. They want to be supported and it’s time to send women off to war. It’s pimpin without the slavery. The unofficial men’s rights day is November 16th. It will be interesting to see how many men come out.

  6. oh he went to DC to finish transforming the #605 brand all these nice kids started into his and kristi’es personal trumpistan fiefdom. there he is with dusty telling everyone no one’s dying from the virus back home.

These Dems think he’s a winner and they want to be liked, too. They’re good Democrats in potential, but they are throwing ideology out the window for self survival, and in my opinion, due to an unfortunate inferiority complex.

It’s very sad. He’s the next Thune, and when Dems legitimacy our mayor then they are legitimizing future “Yes” votes for Supreme Court nominees like Barrett, who are vehemently opposed to Democratic Party beliefs.

  8. Keep in mind too, that establishment Dems tried to get Jolene elected mayor, then many, a few weeks later, nominated the mayor’s co-chair of his mayoral campaign as the Democratic LG nominee. Well, after she changed her registration to Dem from Repub, that is. #RedMayor #RedConferences

  9. So, you are saying the mayor cant leave the city and go to a hotel without your permission? Got it, clowns.

  10. VSG,
Were PTH to live in Minnesota he would be the next Tina Smith after having served as Chief Digital Techology Officer (aka lead doxxer) for one of Mark Dayton’s campaigns.

  11. VSG,
If those Dems want to be liked, why not do as many other liberals in Sioux Falls – join the social club which is republicanism in South Dskota; file voter registration as a Repuboican.
Some would reference this as doing the Latterell Schoenfish Switch.
But everybody knows this has been properly recognized as the Lederman Maneuver.

  12. Huether wasn’t slick. Crying when he didn’t get his way proves it. He took advantage as king with a dictatorial charter. He was a Sioux Falls Nero that couldn’t be stopped before city credit worthiness became destroyed.

  13. TGfG,

Because they get to be a bigger fish in a smaller pond with the SDDP. #MinnesotaRepublicans
