This absolutely was not caused by the farm show or their people or their vendors. It was strictly the Denny staff that took all the ice out. Again the farm show staff nor any of their vendors caused this!
On FB host parents of the Stampede players have been saying they will get an update tomorrow about the ice repair and future of the season.
No matter how this happened, the truth needs to come out and the cost to tax payers. If the damage was caused by negligent EC staff, they need to pony up.
Sounds like lengthy insurance litigation that could jeopardize the Summit League. Why not smaller events at the Convention Center and bigger ones at the Denty? Then there could be time between engagements for service and repair. When the Denty isn’t full, schedule for the Convention Center? The city has grown enough for use of both. Keeping both could save the low attendance baseball stadium. Also, operation expense for all could keep the city from building more pleasure palaces and parking towers.
On the 6th day the Lord was tired and decided to wait to install common sense in city leaders. Overnight, they escaped.
With a little duct tape and Red Green’s help any dormant and spider web infested street cleaner could be turned into a handy Zamboni.
Maybe the street department could help, too. They’re good at making and maintaining icy situations.
It sounds like our Zamboni is dependent upon some Canadian fuxkers to come through with the parts and tools we need. But with the current chastity belt at the border, nothing seems to be getting through, which ironically makes a cold situation potentially even more hot.
This happens when the Zamboni isn’t painted Jesus.
The Denny has 2 zambonis so I doubt the problem is because of a zamboni being down.
There’s been little mention of this in the MSM. That’s about to change because the annual wiener dog race is this coming weekend. Most people don’t care about the worst team in the USHL, but they do enjoy watching puppies (and teachers) slide around on a sheet of ice.
Like the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge from a few years ago, someone should drive a Zamboni through Silverstar.

Italians have given us everything from a Ferrari to a Zamboni with a Fiat somewhere in the middle. They’re best known for their pizza, however. Although, big sunglasses, scarves, and Vespas are fun too. But who would have ever thought that a people as hot as Italians would ever give us the cold treatment, but then again its like fascism itself: You are either in or out and without a Zamboni on ice life is like pasta without the sauce.
Any chance we could get a list of all the aliases VSG uses. It’s getting harder to know which comments to not read.

my wife knows the wife of a guy who works there. the ice was fixed the middle of last week. however, to make the ice, they need to put down 7 layers, which takes a day each. since it was fixed the middle of last week, there wasn’t enough time to play last saturday’s game. the problem was that water was getting into the ammonia tank, and the ice wouldn’t freeze, or freeze hard enough. once they figured that out they were able to fix it. they couldn’t figure it out, because the diagnostic system said everything was working as it should.
Thanks for the update. Hopefully we will hear something from the Denty staff one of these days. Maybe the mayor will send us a text message 🙂
I don’t know what the issue was but I know it doesn’t take that long to lay the hockey sheet down. The whole process takes about 2 days total.
Thanks for everyone weighing in. While I know the media has said it was broke, I have been curious why no one did a story about why. HELLO! Not everything is negative or controversial, sometimes things just break, so why not tell us why! It’s no different then figuring out you had a nail flat your car tire.
Mr. Zamboni was an American. He developed and perfected equipment for making and maintaining ice at an ice rink in SoCal.
Both Ferrari and Lamborghini make farm tractors. Just sayin’.

That’s why Lamborghini got into the car business. He thought Ferraris sucked. In America, a farmer eventually turns a welder and and some engine parts into a tractor pulling contest. In Italy, such a reality evolves into a Lamborghini.
