While Mr. Anthony is no Woody Guthrie, he nails it with this working class anthem. As he recently said in an interview;
“I see the right trying to characterize me as one of their own, and I see the left trying to discredit me, I guess in retaliation. That sh*t’s gotta stop,” he continued.
The song is about all of us working stiffs and the politicians who are destroying us. Don’t read to much into it.
The song below is probably one of the most controversial songs I have ever heard, and trust me, when it was released, sh!t hit the fan, but I can’t imagine if it was released today . . .
Did you know that Woody Guthrie many years ago wrote a song about Fred Trump, Donald Trump’s dad. Fred was Woody’s landlord and the song goes like this:

Bob Parker is dead. He was originally from Rosebud, South Dakota, but now the showcase girls are on their own with only their long legs to support them.
Parker will be remembered along with other South Dakota greats who have gone, or will go someday, like Lawrence Welk, Cheryl Ladd, Joan Tabor, Mamie Van Soren, Mary Hart, January Jones, David Soul, and Pat O’Brien just to name a few.
One was an angel, while another not so much. Many were starlets, while Bob just always had the right price.
Who says you can’t come from South Dakota and make it big “someday”. It’s why so many leave here and why so many more maybe should. But I’m not sure if we could all make it in Hollywood, because for most a mere Okie reality would probably be our best….. But then again, there’s always Bollywood, but being from Rosebud might help….. But then again, I’m not really sure how that works.
“Who in the hell is Bob Parker?”
