UPDATE: Look what happened to Mr. Jump Thru Hoops
City officials confirmed to me that it is highly likely a task force will be put together at the direction of the city council to determine what to do with the collection.
It is rumored that ALL eight councilors supported the idea of safely storing the collection and putting together this group to determine what to do next. It is also probably safe to assume that the legislature will be tackling some laws that have to do with this next session.
So a little victory, but you will have to keep an eye on it.
See what happens when our policymakers ban together and shine a little light on something, they can tell the mayor to take a hike, now if they would just do it while voting down a tax increase.
Some dead animals will be housed, while the housing crisis continues. Mountgate demonstrates how democracy can still work around here if it involves an issue that the developers don’t have an “invested” interest.
At the state level, apparently, Commissioner Nelson has finally decided with his colleagues that the PUC can stop a pipeline. I thought he said in 2022, during his re-election campaign, that state laws lacked the ability to empower the PUC to stop pipelines. But I guess I shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth, should I?
Both of these issues show how democracy requires participation, but without it democracy will decay like an arsenic laced trophy or an aging pipeline.
Sounds like there should be a nuclear waste train to the dump site in Nevada.
Maybe just give the Brockhouse Band a new gig:
Stage them in the big corn maze so as to scare the crap out of kids. If lost, climb the giraffe and yell for help.
Put them up and down Phillips and have a Jumanji experience.
Give their legs wheels and ride them for the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
Put them in the Empire Mall for a new Rainforest Restaurant.
Have Tarzan lead them to stomp down city zoning mistakes at McKennan Park and the Kremlin mansion.
Paint them blue for an Avatar animals army
Make more traffic circles and put one in each.
