I am sure you are expecting that the CRC got a proposal at their meeting today that would aid in combatting our childcare crisis in Sioux Falls. You would be wrong. What they got was a whole bunch of folks that need childcare (elder care) and I am not talking about the constituent’s proposals but the response from the commission itself.

I encourage you to watch how the chair was eager to kill a proposal and one member was confused by the authoritarian nature of the mayor’s office asking ‘What is the issue?’

IDK, Dictatorships are bad?

Commission Member Larry Long to the rescue who moved to have all proposals moved to the last meeting for approval instead of killing them several months before the election.

Let’s make it clear, the people making the proposals know they will be killed by the CRC, the funny part to watch is how the CRC plans to kill them eloquently. So far it looks like the He Man Woman Hater’s Club has been convening instead of a commission that’s duty is to recommend ballot questions.

Thought I would never say it, but can we please have Justin Smith back as chair? Pretty Please? He seemed to be awake and engaged in the meetings. Is that to much to ask from a volunteer?

I have felt for awhile there is an underground tow to change our city charter, not sure who is going to bare that fruit, but I think it is coming sooner rather than later, and these clowns on the CRC can kill, kill, kill, all they want, but at the end of the day, it is the people who rule.

  1. Matthew Perry is dead. People are sad. You would think that JFK or Cobain had died again. We now have one less Friends. AND, this is a really big deal for those of us who have no friends. I miss the 90s. They say it was our last great decade. There was no social media then, and the internet was just a “fade”. Desert Storm was a dud and not a Nam. The Wall was down, the Soviets left town, and Russia appeared to be free. China appeared to not be a threat, and then we let them have all of our factories. When the glove did not fit we were stunned, but the economy was roaring, so we forgot. Slick Willy reigned the roost, became the first Democrat in decades to be a two-termer, and he made an impeachment not be a bother. We had a federal surplus or two, too. Ruby Ridge, Waco, and Oklahoma City startled us, but we won the war in Bosnia without an American causality. Kramer was then beloved. Monica became known, but only that name became a causality for future baby girls, that is. If only we could go back to that time, that decade, when we were all just Friends.

  2. There’s lack of support for families. A child was a 3k deduction. It’s now 1k. Nobody wants to run a daycare business. You don’t get paid and end up feeding and clothing kids. Expense and no profit. A working wage doesn’t allow for child care. Better to stay home waiting for welfare checks. Impoverished kids grow up criminals. Over 18 incarceration has become a career. Marriages don’t last because of the pressure. Divorce lawyers thrive while single parents feed the family with shoe leather. There’s mass migration here from southern countries. They’re starting to learn it wasn’t so bad where they’re from.

This was but now isn’t the promised land.

  3. I’m thinking George Santos instead of Donald Trump for President. Both liars, criminals, deviants, fakes, unpatriotic, and republicans. At least George isn’t nearly so bad, young, and a better role model for brain dead grade school dropouts. If you’re determined to ruin this country, Elect George.

  4. A President Santos could be fascinating and useful. His Gene Shalit glasses, however, could make bust making difficult, but this lies would come in handy. It’s what is sometimes (someday?) called spin in the political world. Imagine aliens invading, a massive meteorite headed for earth, or Chick-fil-A filing for complete and dissolving bankruptcy, with any of these major events a President Santos could ease our pains with a simple but audacious lie. #TeamSantos #SupermanInTheOvalOffice #SantosClaus
