My great uncle J-R died last week (Dad’s uncle). I used to work construction with him when I was in High School. He was really funny. He used to wear a unshaved 10X beaver cowboy hat that looked like the carpeting on the wall of the Top Hat. And he would always wear this quilted vest, even it was 100 degrees outside, he used to tell us that ‘It kept him cooler’. We never did understand that.

He did have some great jokes though, mostly dirty ones. Imagine me be related to him? Huh?

  1. Please accept my condolences. His birthday is the same as mine. He sounds one-of-a-kind. I lost an uncle who always wore a multicolored bright welding cap with a speedo thong at family reunions. He was peculiar but always accepted by all. He farmed and welded but had a literature major and really never got a chance to write.

  2. JR was a Korean war vet, I probably told you about him. He stepped on a landmind over there and never really got over the pain in his leg.
